TARGET: SCORPION!
It's business as usual for Miles Morales as he finds himself squaring off with Mac Gargan, A.K.A. THE SCORPION! But as a cult of Carnage's bloodthirsty acolytes swarms New York, Miles will learn the hard way that Scorpion has a history with Venom and the other symbiotes of the Marvel Universe! If he can survive this issue, that is.

Great characterization, action, and visuals make this a great read. The cliffhanger makes this a must-read for anyone even partially interested in Absolute Carnage. Read Full Review
ABSOLUTE CARNAGE: MILES MORALES #1 is a fast-paced and enthralling story. It doesn't really introduce any information you can't pick up in the main ABSOLUTE CARNAGE book, though, making it non-essential if you're just trying to keep up with the story. Read Full Review
Absolute Carnage: Miles Morales isn't, by any means, a must-read for the event, but it does give a nice bit of context to what Miles was up to prior to his run-in with Carnage in Absolute Carnage #2. Read Full Review
That isn't nothing, but beyond that, Absolute Carnage: Miles Morales #1 may be for completionists only. Read Full Review
Easily the weakest of the Absolute Carnage bunch. The high-point of this issue happens in the main event book, so just read that. Read Full Review
Since Saladin writes Miles so well, this book doesn't feel so off, like some tie-ins usually do. Art was a bit rough on edges sometimes, but otherwise, a great issue.
Pretty good issue, but not the most essential. That'll probably change with the next two issues.
"Venom. The sights of him lets loose memory from another lifetime."
Kind of already read this story, but I thought it was at least written and drawn well.
How Miles met Carnage, the extended cut. It doesn't expand much on Absolute Carnage #2 and the visuals are dreadfully sketchy. Miles sounds nicely consistent with his current solo, though -- the benefit of getting Saladin Ahmed to script this.
Prelude:
Miles received some pretty big ramifications from Absolute Carnage #2. Does this series add any more information or can I just skip it like every other tie-in?
The Good:
Some nice art here though noticeably bright for Absolute Carnage.
Also have a few interesting interactions but it's nothing we haven't seen before.
The Bad:
God, the continuity is shocking here. Asides from the bare bones of what happened in the core series, everything is different putting everyone that isn't Mile in a terrible light.
Nothing really new either, just a typical fight with Scorpion before the Absolute Carnage stuff begins and I've already voiced my complaints on that part.
