While it seemed a little too easy that the new Wasp could just undo the Evolutionary's humanization of Viv. (Perhaps I'm just not aware of how smart Nadia is supposed to be). Waid still closes out his final arc on a high note. Mark Waid loves this book and you could tell with every issue he wrote. Him leaving this book is as heartbreaking to me as Cyclops having to leave the team. Both Mark Waid and Cyclops will be sorely missed. Read Full Review
As I'm sure you can tell, I loved this issue. It brought the current story arc to a close and reaffirmed the strong bond this team has for each other. Yes, there is a change to the team line up and as much as I am sorry to see one character leave, and I am excited to see where this team goes next. But not only is the team line up changing in the book, but the creative team on this book is changing as well. And that has me nervous.Jim Zub will be taking over the writing duties while Sean Izaakse will be taking over the art.Waid and Ramos have really given life to this book, and I can only hope that once the torch is passed, Champions is still as great as it has been. I'll remain cautiously optimistic and stay excited to see where this book goes next. Read Full Review
If every issue of Champions were more like this one, leaning more on the quality of the relationships than the quirky teen jokes, the book would have a lot more people talking. Read Full Review
Overall, I'm just glad that we are moving on from this story arc. Wrapping up lingering plot points and expanding the team at the same time makes the new folks look like foot soldiers without much to do. While this arc is enjoyable in some aspects, what we really want to see is more interactions with the newbies and learn more about these characters. I have loved this series and really went in to defend it on several occasions but it had lost its original sense of direction and niche. I'm not sure if new writer Zub and artist Izaakse will be able to reinvigorate it. So much of this title for me was tied up with Ramos' art. That's now gone, and it will be strange to see it depicted in a new style. I'll stick with it but this has become something of a rudderless ship, which needs correcting rather swiftly. A very good (And fun sometime) disturbing story. The end make thing very weird ...
"Hey Mr the officer that the body of my daughter ... But she isn't dead ... She's in her sisters ... Who was brain dead at the time of Viv sacrifice to return in her body. And hey both named Viv. But I'm not a bad dad at all ! Sight ! "
And Nadia ... I will not even try to explain her action.

My only problem with Mark Waid’s final issue on this title is how easy it was to change Viv back into a robot again. It seems like Waid just wrote an easy way out. Anyways, the character work was really strong, especially with cyclops and I was sad to see Scott go. It felt very crowded with all the new members so we’ll see what Jim Zub does next issue
Viv concludes her doppelganger story and the roster finally changes as Cyclops says a touching goodbye. Those pieces are outstanding. This issue is a farewell to the original creative team, too, and it reflects some of their weaknesses as well as their strengths. In several panels, the Champions become an amorphous blob of gangly teen limbs. At the worst point, the blob even speaks with one eerie, communal voice. It's a visual demonstration of these creators' failure to forge the Champions into a real ensemble. Also, Mark Waid can't resist one last chance to cast aspersions on Kamala by writing her an over-fragile "boo hoo hoo" response when Cyclops takes off. Sigh.
Welcome to the Oblivion Bar where the first round is on me and the pretzels are free! Be warned: like the pickled eggs at the bar, this issue is going to get SPOILED rotten.
This felt like an issue to get the team back on track before giving them a Fresh Start. We got Viv back to her old android self, Cyclops is off the team, and we placed younger versions of all the main heroes into their line up.
The book didn’t move us into any new story but set us up for the future. Heck, if they wanted to stop the run now, it would be a good time. Personally, I think they should make this book a bit more kid friendly.... just a bit... like a Teen Titans Go book in a way.... and get some of the little ones into the shops. I feel more
thank goodness! all of the horrible choices made in the past pile of issues get corrected all at once. apparently because of a creative team change coming. thank goodness!
Viv is back! the art is horribly not my taste, but.. Viv is back! maybe the new team can get the book on track again.
