This issue is the start of a promising new adventure. We have a new team behind the wheel but the same feel. Jim Zub and Mark Waid just finished on Avengers No Surrender together. Considering the outstanding teamwork they did on that book. Zub is probably the best choice to take over where Waid left off. Zub begins in fine style, remembering that this is a teen book and doesn't miss the subtleties that give a teen superhero book heart. I'm strapped in and ready to see what's in store. I think Jim Zub is playing it a little safe here. Maybe a little too safe. These heroes are already battle tested and he seems to dumb them down a little too much in my opinion. I can understand he wants to do that to allow for growth and suspense. The art is gorgeous it reminds me of watching the Ultimate Spider-man cartoon. Cho seems a little de-aged and written slightly out of character a little too much of a corny hipster in my opinion. Once Jim gets these characters voices down a little more I think this will be a great comic. Read Full Review

Overall, as you might have guessed, I was underwhelmed with this new creative team and their debut issue. The story is generic with a "been there, done that" feel to it, and the art was just ok to me, with some really weird depictions of Hulk throughout. Read Full Review

I loved the Uncanny Avengers by Zub & Izaakse, but the No surrender slump make me going with some doubt.
And the duo remove my doubt from the first page. There is a lot of Champions (But I see that Patriot, Locus or Moon Girl aren't there for now).
I'm very happy to see Iron-heart in such good hand, and even Wasp/Nadia was good;
I wonder where the mystery of the pole lead, but I'm in with them.
A very nice transitional issue, with a chocking cliffhanger.

Cover - 1/2 there is some progress to do for the cover
Writing - I find the mystery at the start very good, Zub as quickly made all Champions is own & that wasn't easy with their number. 2.5/3
Arts - Ok I love Ramos, but I really love Isaakse too. It's a good remplacement ! 3/3
Feeling - I will have more than one issue to tell if the transition is good, but this is really promising ! 2/2 more

Pretty standard transition issue. Looking forward to seeing what Zub can do

Arctic mysteries await the Champions. For now, attention is focused on superb character dynamics and the team's snazzy new super-science ride. The dynamics are all-time great; the Big Blue Brick is just there. The development of the plot suffers from the pages lovingly devoted to the BBB. I think the creators got hung up on the question "How do we get the Champions to the Arctic?" early on in the brainstorming process. Outside of the attention they lavish on their answer, they're doing terrifically promising things with the Champions.

Did I just witness a Champions book with a good portion of action?!!? What a step up from the previous books, at least in my opinion. Art was solid and a fun story to match.

It's a good start but i'll need more to convince me to stay. Izaakse is great and i love his new designs.
