I'm digging the return to form for Champions, the new line up and creative team. I have some thoughts about the end of this issue but overall I like what I'm reading and ready for whatever Zub andIzaakse throw our way. Read Full Review
If you're new to the series, you'll want to grab issue #19 before picking up this one, but this arc is worth checking out. Read Full Review
Champions #20 is a solid issue on many fronts, no matter how old you may be. Read Full Review
While the pace remains slightly jerky, the Zub/Izaakse edition of the Champions is still a formidable thrill ride and a refreshing improvement on the team's earlier doldrums. This continuation pays dividends on the groundwork in #19 and sets the stage for an impressive climax in #21. We're already loving the build-up, and we wouldn't dream of missing the payoff next month. Read Full Review
The tone and fun of the Champions from where Mark Waid left off are still there. So is the style of art that Ramos had used to give the book it's energy. Champions is still consistently good and I have high hopes for this beginning arc. And Nova asking Viv out on a date after almost dying is classic stuff. With Jim Zub at the helm, this book is in good hands. Read Full Review
A difficult superhero conundrum and an expanded roster make this issue stand out as something unique, and the art is excellent. Read Full Review
My boys want to read comics with action and adventure but they don't want to be scared or look at blood and guts. They want to love Champions, as well as I, I think you just need to hit a true target audience. Read Full Review
A fun but disposable environmental adventure story. Read Full Review
All in all I was pretty underwhelmed and have no desire to check out the next issue. Read Full Review
I really liked this story. It was surprising, chocking & logic in the same time. I love how Zub take the member quickly (Maybe is viv is a little off, but that's not even sure). I hope this will not turn again in a Ms.Marvel against Captain Marvel.
Cover - I lie it & in some way related 1.5/2
Writing - A put the team in the right path. I like how he use each one of them. 2/2
Arts - Love isaakse. I enjoy every panel. 3/3
Feeling - Still one of my favorite reading. 2/2
The Champions fall afoul of the Master of the World, who ties them up in a "what do we do when baddies do good stuff?" conundrum. Meanwhile, local girl Amka is tooling up towards becoming a hero herself. Truly beautiful artwork and impeccable characterization make this a delight. The cliffhanger undercuts #20 a little by promising bigger and better things to come, though.
I love the respect from continuity by Jim Zub by remembering Master of the World from Kurt Busiek’s Kang Dynasty but didn’t he die though? Anyway this issue was kinda boring but Zub writes the characters great
this book might be getting back on track. kind of like the first few issues in that it had a good mix of action, development, and humor. decent cliffhanger too.
Welcome to the Oblivion Bar where the first round is on me and the pretzels are free! Be warned: like the pickled eggs at the bar, this issue is going to get SPOILED rotten.
This is issue appears to kick off another story arc, which is a bit confusing to me since I thought Marvel books were closing down for “Fresh Start”. But anyway, the Champions are still plowing through and I must say, I’m enjoying the team more with RiRi and Nadia on it. Personally, the team feels more legit with them on it. But, that’s just me.
The story opens with some weird spirit woman surrounded by spirit animals ( I think ones a weasel) talking to some little girl. They are both attacked by these big robot bee looking things that sho more
Definitely better than the Waid run, but still feels like it's still missing something. The art has been a nice step up and the story was intriguing. Guess, we just need to see where it goes.
