Overall, Van Lente manages to keep both of the title characters in their truest form, giving us loads of action, blood and, pure adrenaline raising violence. In round one of what I'm sure is going to be an epic arc, that ultimately ends with the two teaming up to take out the “real” bad guys Tango & Cash style, the story comes to an abrupt and honest end. All of these amazing factors combine to form a perfect start to the arc, leaving me fully primed for round two because, Van Lente is telling one hell of a story and, I want more. Read Full Review

Deadpool vs. Punisher doesn't dramatically reinvent the superhero crossover comic, but it has enough spark to stand apart from the crowd. Writer Fred Van Lente makes the most of this odd pairing of not-quite-superheroes, while Pere Perez strikes the right balance between goofy slapstick and grim, violent romp. Read Full Review
It may seem like the beginning to yet another disposableversus book but this issue really shines. The creative team showed incredibleskill in understanding who these characters are and really nailing the voicethat each has. Despite the fact that these characters are different, it's nice tosee the writer acknowledge how they are also similar and in some aspects, theymirror each other in this issue. This was an exciting and action filledbeginning to this series and if the rest of this series is this good, we areall in for a treat. Read Full Review
While there is some great action to be found here, the real strength of Deadpool Versus The Punisher is the surprisingly strong storyline and the fascinating and funny rivalry between its title stars. Read Full Review
In the end this comic does not break any new ground but it has the potential to be a fun series if the chains are off. Van Lente is the right man for the job, let's hope he can get the job done. Read Full Review

Best Punisher book on the shelves at the moment. Feel like this duo understand him much better than the ongoing series. This is also a book that made me actually chuckle to myself while reading which is a pretty rare feat.
Frank and Wade face off over a brilliantly inventive plotline. Rock-solid, brutal gunplay is backdropped with some outstanding settings here. The characterization on our two leads is also handled very well, building up great parallels in their thought processes. I've never been much of a fan of either guy and I'm suffering from serious Deadpool overload right now, but I gotta respect a book put together this well.
Punisher be punishing, hot chicks be hot, and Deadpool be scarfing down the guacamole. The art dark and light tones playing off of one another, and stakes introduced that allow for an interesting opportunity for Deadpool and Punisher to interacted with each other that feels much more organic that the typical super hero mash-up.
the campiness of deadpool mixed with the gritty punisher is just an odd but interesting mix. Oh yes, it's hell of bloody and a butt load of people did and will continue to die each issue. It's just so odd it's like eating french fries and soft serve. It shouldn't work but it kind of does. Lente makes the crossing seem legit and the art is fitting. It's something to follow just for the sake of oddity.
Nothing mind blowing here, but definitely a fun read. I will be picking up the second issue.
