Ghost Rider #5 is packed with dark yet fantastic developments, but it's the humanistic elements that continue to push the series into new depths. This is required reading for any fan of Ghost Rider! Read Full Review
The players are coming together and the power sets are starting to get bigger. We now have Spirits of Vengance along with Spirits of Corruption and Kings of Hell...plus all the other dark realms. Things are being set up for a big showdown as Hearts of Darkness II begins. Read Full Review
The Spirit of Corruption is a killer concept (no pun intended) but so far, we've yet to see just where it's going to take the character and as if yet, it hasn't taken him very far at all. Read Full Review
Awesome stuff here as the momentum builds from the previous issue. Lilith is preparing her demons for an all-out confrontation with Johnny Blaze and we see Johnny slip into a more insane state of mind as he tries to grapple with what he should do with Mephisto now that he has him where he wants him. Danny is trying to fight what he's become as he realizes that he's bitten off more than he can chew. Just when you think you've seen it all a certain Stranger arrives…to be continued. ***1/2 (8.6 rating) Read Full Review
-Multiverse hell and Lilith making a deal with belasco is a great idea
-Great issue, fast pace, great character appearances
-Things are beginning to come together
Prelude:
Well, last issue shook things up. Let's see how it goes now.
The Good:
It's cool having Wolverine and Punisher even though they are in this for only a small bit.
Love the showing of Danny as the Spirit of Corruption.
Johnny and Mephisto's part is cool too.
The Bad:
Nothing.
Conclusion:
It's a very good issue but nothing really stands out to make it great.
Man, am I actually enjoying Ghost Rider? This is weird.
Mephisto clues Johnny in to the threat of Lilith and Wolverine + Punisher take a swipe at Danny to prove how tough his new Spirit of Corruption is. This is a collection of great scenes but there's very little within the issue tying them together. A textbook example of a "one chapter in a larger story" comic.
There's so much going on and a lot to anticipate. It reads as if the build-up is all in one book then the next will just be all out carnage and chaos. Danny's humanity is very well-written and seeing what the Spirit of Corruption capabilities is interesting. The sense of dread and exhilaration makes it an engaging read. Very excited to see what's up in the next issue. Ed Brisson is killing it with Ghost Rider!
Fun. Doc vs Johnny!
Say what you will about Mephisto, but the man knows how to torture.
This was a pretty good issue and had some cool moments. This run has been pretty good so far. I like this artist.
