This book can be looked at as a creative team success story. It should be. All good things must come to an end. If anything, the delays have made this last longer in some ways. This is a seres I won't forget anytime soon. It's one I will definitely read over and over. The world was never at stake in Hawkeye nor was a city in peril due to some alien menace. Clint, Kate, and Pizza Dog lived on the streets and so each story lived there too, and somehow, that became the most interesting and innovative thing we could read each month (or several months, but that's neither here nor there). Hawkeye #22 is simply the best possible ending for our archers. The building and the people in it are safe, everyone got their version of a happy ending, and it was a futzing honor to have experienced it. The team of Matt Fraction and David Aja deliver a masterful finale, they, along with Matt Hollingsworth and letterer Chris Eliopoulos, turning in yet another thrilling chapter of character and heart. HAWKEYE has always been one of the best books Marvel has been releasing since its launch back in 2013. It's rare to see a book so consistently good, and even rarer to see that book stick the landing. As a series, "Hawkeye" has been a rare success for a character that's struggled to maintain an ongoing title, and the final issue punctuates the heroic nature of Clint Barton and goes a long way towards establishing a modern-day incarnation of the character that has some real staying power. With some reservations on the selection of the ending and the left-over that surely can be expand further, Hawkeye #22 is a long delayed ultimate send-off that gives Clint Burton and other characters (particularly Kate "Hawkeye" Bishop) a more relatable, humane, iconic but heroically superhuman attributes. Best comic book of the week.

Although I was kinda sore about having to wait so long for this, all bad feelings were forgotten. This was the perfect conclusion to a near-perfect series, utterly satisfying in every way. I want to make a point to praise Matt Hollingsworth in particular, because while Fraction and Aja (rightfully) get heaps of praise, Hollingsworth really does a lot to make this book what it is. One scene in particular, containing the orange glow of the sunset, just killed me. What a great futzin' book this was, one of the best 22 issue runs of comics I've ever read. I'm gonna miss it.

This was one of the most amazing series I've read in a long time. I loved every page of hawkeye, rip Matt Fraction's hawkguy (don't worry Clint isn't actually dead) and I hope to see some series on your level once again some day.
