With the initial five-issue arc out of the way, itll be interesting to see where Foster goes next. Ewing and Aaron have put together a fascinating character and given her an equilibrium all her own this issue. From here, they can do some exciting things if they handle it as well as theyd handled this issue. Read Full Review
Jane Foster: Valkyrie #5 (Ewing, Aaron, CAFU, Aburtov) is filled with stunning visuals that make a satisfying conclusion to the first arc of Janes turn as Valkyrie. Jane Foster is finding her own role as Valkyrie, not relying on the heroes that have come before. Her innovation and realization that the Grim Reaper is a hero in his own head allow for interesting ramifications, as does the pain he was able to cause the All-Weapon. Not to mention my personal fondness (obsession?) with Lisa getting gratification in her charging into battle on the repoed steed of Black Knight and a flashback acknowledging her ex America Chavez. Valkyrie #5 was a brilliant addition to Jane's tale. I love where they're taking her series. It's been an intense and fascinating ride so far, and here's hoping it doesn't end anytime soon. This issue had the perfect balance of heavy and humor, which is really essential for this type of story. Read Full Review

Filled with vibrant colors and brisk fights as frequently as the rest of the series has been, Valkyrie: Jane Foster #5 has outdone the issues behind it. It wraps up a fight in a brilliant yet still unexpected way and seamlessly works witty banter into the action and drama to keep things light. Read Full Review
While this book started a bit average, it really reached a satisfying conclusion as the convenient "All Weapon" is nullified I'm the climactic fight, and it's always nice to see the hero have to use their brain and not their fists to beat the bad guy. The Art is superb, very detailed, and great colours and separations. It's nice to see Jane both get some respect from an A list hero, and make a pretty significant enemy with Mephisto. For the first time with this book I'm eager to see where the next issue takes us. Read Full Review
Valkyrie saves the day, and Dr. Strange, thanks to strategic advice from Anabelle Riggs and tactical assistance from Mr. Horse. The twist that solves the plot is simple but powerful, and the script makes room for at least one "Hell Yeah" moment for every character (except Dr. Strange, LOL). The art is gorgeous, too. This comic is an amazing gift you didn't realize you deserved, but you do. Be grateful!
Prelude:
Aaron and Ewing's Valkyrie has been an absolute blast so far. With the final issue of this initial arc, let's see if they can land this story.
The Good:
This was a fun issue to read. Jokes were good and the story was entertaining.
Mephisto even in his minimal role this issue was great.
Mr. Horse likewise was outstanding this issue.
Jane's solution was quite unique and I didn't expect it.
The Bad:
Nothing.
Conclusion:
A great, funny issue that surprised me with it's solutions. This was a great arc to start Jane off as Valkyrie.
Solid ending to the first arc. Ewing and Aaron flipped the script by wisking Grim Reaper's ass off to Vahalla. Boy is he TIGHT right now! Enjoyed this 1st arc for real!
Why isn't everyone talking about this?
" I'm not brunnhilde. I'm not Thor. I'm not even Spider-Man. I'm not a super-héros and valkyrie isn't my name. It's my job. "
- VALKYRIE
Valkyrie continues to be a great book. And while it is corny in some areas it really makes up for it with all the good this book offers. I really enjoyed the grim reaper as the villain and jane continues to grow in her new role.
A solid ending to the first arc.
I am all about Mephisto sassing hero names, and I live for the talking horse fight.
So you can take anyone to Valhalla even if they aren't dead?
