VENOM INC. Part 5
• Spider-Man and Venom continue their uneasy alliance as they work to stop Maniac from taking over New York's criminal underworld!
• It's outright mayhem as the heroes mount a counteroffensive and take the fight to Maniac! But with an unleashed symbiote and an army at his command, will it be enough?!
• (Hint: Probably not, True Believer!)
Rated T+
Venom #160 is easily the best part of this mess of a crossover. It brings it all together, its fun, and I certainly enjoyed my time watching this symbiotic smorgasbord. I think you will, too. Give it a try I recommend it. Read Full Review
As far as crossovers go, this is one of the more enjoyable ones I’ve read in a while, but I’m not going to say it’s a must read. The fast pace gives everyone a moment to shine through art that fits the characters well. It doesn’t look like these events will matter to Eddie Brock or Peter Parker once the omega issue has come and gone, but if you just can’t stand Flash Thompson being sidelined so unfairly, then you can give this a shot. It's really not a bad issue at all, beyond the fact that it's just not very exciting. We've been down this road many times before, and there's not a lot that's unique to this issue or series. Read Full Review
A very fun action focused issue in a VERY dull and boring crossover event.... the art and action are fantastic in this issue but it doesn’t save how horrible mundane this story has been
Best issue of Venom Inc. so far. Art was pretty cool. Enjoyable read.
So far this was probably the best issue in this crossover, just pure crazy action with some decent humour. Art is very 90s-esque, with Venom drawn very large, just as it needs to be.
Peter had a funny scene. Andi had a spotlight scene. Everything else was not bad - but average.
The heroes steamroller a bunch of mooks in Venom masks, Spidey saves Venom when he makes a heroic sacrifice, and Lee Price survives so that I have to follow this childish story over into an Omega issue to drive a stake into it. It's not *bad* per se, it's just so aggressively simplistic that it angers me with its mediocrity. Art so frenetic that it repeatedly loses the thread of the story and a plot that has me asking, "Surely *that's* not their plan?" at multiple points are bad substitutes for depth and/or cleverness.
My rating includes a penalty for art that, at its low points, could fail a double-blind quality check against Rob Liefeld's 90s work.
