After a somewhat serious and heavy previous arc, X-23 #6 gives readers something they don't often get in titles involving Laura: fun. Read Full Review
X-23 #6 was a one and done story that was worth telling if you wanted to see Gabby where she shines best. I'm impressed that even though this series is called X-23, liberties are taken to make sure that we are getting the best of both worlds from Laura and Gabby. Their dynamic and bond is what we invest in. Read Full Review
After a great first arc this is a slightly disappointing comic relief issue, albeit with some very clever coloring. I fully expect this series to get back on track in the next instalment. Read Full Review
Though the plot of this one-shot is straightforward, it's built up with considerable charm and care. It's funny, thoroughly believable, and beautiful to look at. X-23 #6 is a palate-cleanser that makes an excellent interlude between heavier stories. Read Full Review
A very nice change of pace from Tamaki, and I felt Georges Duarte's best work in the issue was X-23. He still maintained her look, while making her fit right in as a young, fit teacher. Read Full Review
Still, the predictable plot doesn't stop the issue from being enjoyable. It's mindless superhero action at its best and a fun little distraction until the plot comes right back around. If anything, readers should pick this issue up just for the Gabby quotes alone – always golden. Read Full Review
X-23 delivers a pretty fun one-shot high school adventure, while completely ignoring all the great stories that could exist if this wasn't a done-in-one issue. Read Full Review
I may be on some hater-ade, but I just expect a lot more from a favorite superhero. Cover makes it seem a lot cooler than it is, I feel like it would definitely be a memorable one, just with an basic story behind it. Art saves it, it has good detail with pretty background colors. Read Full Review
Put simply, it's an issue without depth, and hopefully the next issue will get the book back on track quickly. Read Full Review
Not a arc, but just a story. Very funny thanks to gabby. Not importante but welcomed after the last arc and before the next.
It's fun so why not enjoy the ride ?
Cover - I take the Uncanny X-men variant. Not related but Beautiful. And in fact even the regular isn't related. 1/2
Writing - I had my doubt after Hulk but Tamaki is a good choice for Gabby & Laura. 3/3
Arts - Not the kind I like. But a did a good job. 3/3
Feeling - One of my favorite ongoing right now. I look forward to read next issue. 2/2
Gabby takes the lead on a goofy, sweet high school adventure. The script concentrates on humor rather than insight, and the result is fun little dessert one-shot that's a perfect chaser to the title's first arc. The visuals commit fully to creating a Ms. Marvel-esque environment, and that does plenty to elevate the story. Not the most meaningful comic ever written, but one that's a blast to read.
It's a breather issue between two heavy arcs. The art is a step back from Cabal, though served the inherent silliness of the story well.
If there's a weakness, it's that while the idea of Gabby interacting at school with normal kids her age and Laura herself being in a teacher's role is an interesting one, Tamaki never really gives it the thorough exploration it deserves. Rather than being an examination of Laura and Gabby through the lens of mundane life that we take for granted, the entire premise exists solely to service the plot.
This issue is just a nice 1 off story before Tamaki starts the next major arc. It is fun and light story. Duarte's art is nice as well. X-23 continues to chug along and my hope is this book can have a nice long run.
This was alright... Not much to say. Gabby is fun.
This was a good single issue story. Unfortunately this story is quite predictable. As much as I love Gabby, its called X-23. Would love at least an issue where she goes on the mission solo. Could have been this issue.
Weak.
This was okay but nothing super special.
I loved the first arc, but this one off felt like a short story more fit into an annual instead of a whole issue.
The first arc was awesome but this one didn’t work for me
