This is a great story. One thing that I did not necessarily like, was the reverse storytelling. The second chapter in this issue takes place somewhere in issue number 1. That portion confused me, but it smoothed out. Seeing the sons of some of the worlds finest heroes battle villains is hilarious. To me, I read this as those particular villains are so corny that young kids can destroy them. On the other hand, you can view it as the pair being so great together, that they can destroy top-tier villains. Either way, I would recommend reading this series. Damian and Jon are pure comic relief, yet, they have the potential to become true heroes within the DC Universe. Read Full Review
Challenge of the Super Sons certainly pivots here from what I expected the book to do as it jumps over everything that happens with the mysterious Rora. Instead of taking us through that adventure, which I hope we see some of eventually, we get a brief look at what was involved with it through the dialogue and then barrel forward on the adventure in the here and now timeframe. This all works well as Tomasi has these characters down quite easily at this point from his time writing them before this series and Raynor has a really great look for the whole book so that it has a kind of neat polish to it that feels almost al little crazy and frenetic – but in the right way. I can't say this enough, Challenge of the Super Sons is a delight. When my biggest problems are picking at the awkward transition between present and past, you know it's a good book. Tomasi is really giving both Jon and Damian a chance to shine here, and doing it in a fun way that keeps them together and on a mission. Plus, we've started to get some plot around the villains behind the doom scroll. Like I said at the start, I'm still having a blast reading this book, and I know you all will too if you pick it up. The story of the Super Sons continues to deliver with its amusing dialogue and wonky predicaments. Despite its kid-like feel, this adventure of Robin and Superboy is one that is still enjoyable for those who love the characters, regardless of age. Read Full Review
Feels like I skipped a chapter, but apparently not, at least as much as the solicitation tells me. This was fine, though. Nothing too exciting.
