Both Tynion and Rosenberg have said that Tynion wrote most of the plot even before Rosenberg came in. And Rosenberg has said that the Batfamily/Birds of Prey/Barbara Gordonstuff is by Tynion.

This series has successfully managed to come out of the shadows of the megahit DCeased, despite both being focused on turning famous DC characters into horror villains. The main difference is that this book doesn't turn them into generic slobbering monstersit turns them into serial killer cult members who wear your loved one's face and prey upon your trust in them. It adds a whole new sense of horror to the whole thing that works very well. Read Full Review

DC vs. Vampires #9 is a great chapter juggling the badassery of Green Arrow, the sea voyage of Supergirl, and the attempts of the heroes to enter a bordered-up Gotham. Read Full Review
This issue was a necessary change in course that finally revealed some cracks in the vampires invulnerable armor. Theres still time left for the surviving heroes to turn the tide as this issue helps get the series back on track. Read Full Review

Couple this weeks tale with some average renderings that just didnt deliver like last month and I feel readers will see an average issue with a few peak moments. If youre already in on DC Vs. Vampires, hang in there and go pick it up. However, if you're looking to hop on board, this issue wouldnt be the one to entice you unless you are a Green Arrow fan! Let me know what you think, have a great week, and God Bless! Read Full Review
Stymied, Batgirl wonders how she'll ever get to Nightwing. But then an unlikely ally arrives - a vampire Damian ready to help out. Comics are supposed to entertain and outside of the inanity of Green Arrow's plan, this book was a fun book to read. A lot of it is buoyed by the dynamic art of Schmidt. But I like Supergirl in this book. I really liked the Mera reveal. And the Gotham storyline sort of crackles. Read Full Review
Although the Batgirl plot is going nowhere fast, DC Vs. Vampires #9 is a good comic book story. It has really good artwork and really interesting characters. In spite of my enjoyment of the issue, I remain critical of the overall story direction of the series. Read Full Review
Right now, Supergirl's story is the msot interesting to me because I can't exactly figure out where it's going. The other two teams have very clear objectives. with Superbgirl there's a seemingly simple goal that, for some reason, I feel it's going to get complicated (like with that twist).
At this point, I'm probably repeating myself, but I loved this issue. It's a testament of the writers' skill (a surprisngly good combo, personally) that this issue is mostly told through action scenes yet it still manages to keep what makes the series so engaging. Suspense, black comedy, genuinely good twists and reveals (oh, that Black Manta moment was really well done) and the little character moments (Steel and Kara, Green Arrow and Grifter (!), Aquaman pausing for a second when he sees you-know-who *and* that you-know-who answering exactly how you'd expect).
Supergirl is probably the best addition to this second half, because I'm really invested in her fight. She's probably the most traditional superhero left in the setting more
This issue is firing on all cilinders and it's just great.
The characters are pitch-perfect. That "lone hunter" Green Arrow works like a charm and found his conversation with Grifter (nice cameo) pretty hilarious as does Damian finding the Birds of Prey at the end of this issue's cliffhanger.
The pacing is great and each tale compliments the other, the dialogue works very well and I like they are keeping the intrigue and the emotional confrontations: the heroes have already lost and this series is *very* good at making you care whether they'll be able to gain something or simply succumb and join the horde.
But what I loved the most was the Supergirl section. I really like how Kara and Steel are written in th more
That twist was pretty cool.
What it's doing, it does very well, but this issue felt a tad decompressed.
This is probably the series with the stupidest title that keeps me to the edge of my seat month to month.
