There's a really great run on Wonder Woman right now. The creative team is providing a unique, engaging story that is constantly supported and led by character. Don't find yourself asking how come you didn't know about this. You won't be disappointed with Wonder Woman #774. Read Full Review
Conrad and Cloonan are doing an excellent job with the rhythm of a story that has taken Diana from one pantheon to the other in an enjoyably powerful serial of heroic adventure. Bellaires issue-ending feature has more of an original feel that explores the fascinating, under-explored teenaged phase of a character of great power coming-of-age in a lost world inhabited exclusively by adults. The dramatic potential of that end of Wonder Womans life is finally given some time on the page thanks to Bellaires clever storytelling. Read Full Review
If there is any one small negative to the whole issue is that it is a little too exposition heavy, but other than that, it's fantastic. Read Full Review
I'm not sure how long Diana's current status quo will last, as there's only so much that can be done with her in the afterlife. But while it lasts, it's a unique and entertaining ride. Read Full Review
MacDonald does great work with the art in the issue. The landscapes are beautifully detailed. The characters look great and there is a great mood set with the art and its style. Read Full Review
I love Greek mythology and I love Wonder Woman so Im in resting easy in the Elysian Fields with this current run on Wonder Woman. Who knows when she will get this whole afterlife thing settled and Im ok with that because we are getting some of the best Wonder Woman weve seen in a very long time. Writing, art, ink, lettering, the whole package is absolutely well done. Read Full Review
This marks another fun and solid issue from Cloonan and Conrad and as always definitely jump on this series if you haven’t yet! Read Full Review
Overall, if readers have kept up with this series thus far, it is exactly what it has shown itself to be. There's excellent pacing and fun characters, but it's bogged down a bit by confusing characterization at times. This issue in particular is a bit of a step down in the art department, but would seemingly make up for it in the strong revelations it presents. Read Full Review
Diana getting to Olympus should have elevated this book, but instead, it felt stale and uninspired. Whether it's wow moments we've seen for years or new things that appear out of nowhere, nothing in this issue felt as big as it should. Wonder Woman fighting through the afterlife sounded cool at first, but I think I am ready for her to get back to the living. Read Full Review
The start of this arc wasnt as captivating as Wonder Woman in Ragnarok. Its got time to develop, but this did get off to the best start. Read Full Review
Enter Olympus. Diana is finally in the right afterlife, but things aren’t as they are supposed to be. The mystery is set up quite well. Janus is an intriguing villain, and the appearance of one of them is familiar to readers of this run.
Instead of Travis Moore (who will return in September), Andy MacDonald is on art. While the art is a bit of a step down in quality – especially when looking at Ratatosk, who has an entirely different vibe – it’s by no means bad. I actually like Diana’s design here better. Fitting with the return of all her memories, she doesn’t look as young as when drawn by Moore.
And on the topic of her memories: Diana feels more like herself in this Issue. Especially when she has to go d more
Diana has her work cut out for her, because now we have context on that vision she had in the form of a new villain. Sigh... never enough time to relax in this content is there? At least it feels like the feeling of going in blind is universal.
not a bad start, in my opinion. I like how Wonder Woman interacts with Deadman and I am looking forward to how Wonder Woman figures out Janus is part of the problem.
Not bad, but definitely just teetering on the edge of boring. Those backups kill me, man.
It was ok. At least Moore is gone for an issue or two.
The lame excuse with magically crafted second blade was hard to accept. Especially if Diana herself blocked the original with her bare hands. The Greek mythos seem bland here compared to Nordic ones. And to think it's her background.
Diana still acts weird. It's way better than Sonja or Conan that she was before but the journey is still long. The evil twin trope and lost memories before are so overused in her lore it's getting too repetitive. And to think after regaining her memories she would be interested with her friends and family. If everything was ok. Nope. It's a generally medicore run. The rat is fun but that's about it. Moore draws Diana and Donna like th more
