Transformers are every bit as distinctive and expressive in Corona's style and the action sequences still stun with explosive and sudden violence. With the arrival of the war on Cybertron along with the Earth-focused conflict, Transformers #7 doesn't let up the potential and spectacle. Johnson just needs to be mindful of losing some of the effectiveness of a good thing by leaning too hard on character deaths. Read Full Review
Impressed by how they maintained pacing after the preceding arc finale.
The new artist is great.
This series hasn’t missed a beat. I was disappointed to learn that Daniel Warren Johnson was no longer drawing the series anymore, but Jorge Corona’s style is nearly identical to my eyes.
First, Jorge Corona is doing an amazing job replicating DWJ style. There are small differences here and there but nothing jarring. I love this as often when switching artists things can go downhill quick. Not in this case!
As for the story itself... like did they just kill off Starscream? This is such a more brutal stake on Transformers and I am here for all of it. Such a contrast in hope and despair, in growth and loss. DWJ starts this new arc off with a bang and delivers an amazing story. A must read.
It may look like everyone is just glazing this series.
Well we are.
It deserves glazing.
Soundwave fans are gonna love this one. More of a Shockwave guy myself. But he'll be around.
This comic is so good.
Lot of setup and background here, other than the shocker of course.
My only complaint is I feel like we were missing a page or two, things felt a little rushed at the end.
Not the strongest issue, but still a good one. I still think there are some pacing issues, but there are still some strong moments, such as Soundwave just destroying Starscream. As for the art change, Corona’s is, of course, different. However, I do think it works nicely, especially when he draws the Cybertronians themselves.
The art was pretty fire. As for the story, it wasn't the most exciting issue, but still told a pretty good story.
