BEHOLD THE BIRTH OF COSMIC IRON MAN! Iron Man has tasted a higher power and is forever changed. Moments before, he was locked in mortal combat with his worst adversary in years — KORVAC — but now he finds his very existence altered beyond recognition. Indeed, fundamental concepts like space and time have taken on a new meaning. But what does this portend for Tony Stark, a man who even when stripped bare feels he knows best? What happens when his ego — often challenged, condemned and even derided by both foes and friends — is suddenly given a limitless avenue? It could certainly mean radical and drastic change for the entire universemore
Overall, this issue only further proves how incredible of a comic Iron Man has become"and I'm so happy that it doesn't seem to be slowing down. Read Full Review
Iron Man #14 is a fantastic display of a man in a suit or armour transforming into godhood. Cantwell delivers an extremely detailed, well-written, and visually stunning evolution. That has been a recurring aspect of this run so far. Events dont happen slowlythere is a process to things. This may be one of the most pivotal moments in the history of Iron Man, for after this issue he will never be the same again. Read Full Review
Iron Man #14 sets up a showdown for the ages between Korvac and Iron Man, who is now upgraded to god tier in power. This not only sets up a test for Tony Stark against Korvac, but a test to see if Iron Man has learned and grown beyond the futurist egomaniac who thinks he can fix everything. As a setup issue, it does lack some bite, but it is saved by some incredible imagery. Read Full Review
like this psycho analysis mind scape into Tony’s mind and all the imagery was amazing in capturing Tony’s character.
He’s had it shit of a time since his childhood and Iron Man having a sword duel with Korvac was a great. Love when they incorporate him being this “Iron Knight”
Tony has now gone cosmic and is at the most powerful he’s ever been.
Let’s just hope it doesn’t wrong 😅
Honestly this was a great issue. It takes you on surreal journey into Tony's head, it exlopres his struggles, his psyche from his childhood till now and delivers a logical and consistent finale. The issue is really focused on that, which makes it hella cohesive and i really liked it for that reason.Plus the art is f ing awesome and it's legit funny at moments. In general I think Cantwell is doing wonders with that series and this is for sure one of the standout issues so far in the run. I'm glad he took his time with this.
Loved it.
Tony shouldn't be the only one pissed off about how basic his psychological problems are shown to be here. Once again I feel like vast cosmic premises are being undermined by penny-ante action-movie execution. That's harsh, though. The artists are certainly going all-in on the cosmic-ness. Though I could wish for finer prose, this looks absolutely gorgeous.
It was pretty good in most parts but, there were some parts that just continued the pitty party of this run.
I have to say, this is very disappointing. Same old story, Tony hates himself, Tony is a shitbag, that's all Cantwell knows what to do with the character. I think there's a little self-insert there too because Cantwell does seem to be the kind of guy who also hates himself for nutty reasons. I just throw a prediction out there: Tony will try to destroy everything and at the end the true hero of this run, Hellcat, will save the day. Amazing art by Cafu, I still want to see this guy drawing an Avengers book with the characters in classic wardrobe but I'm unimpressed by Iron God's design, he could've done much better there. The art is the true saving grace of this book, it seems like Cantwell just doesn't know how to write strong personalitiesmore
