So much to love. From character work to plot twists, it's all good. Read Full Review
It may not be the FF, but at least it's a FF as Marvel 2-in-One continues to keep the First Family's light alive. Read Full Review
Marvel Two-in-One #5 continues to improve the series with an emotionally taut and narratively absorbing issue which brings together a Fantastic Four from disparate worlds to battle a threat more immense than anything they could previously imagine. Between Zdarskys competent storytelling and Schiti and Martins excellent artwork, this one definitely earns a recommendation. Give it a read. Read Full Review
The art of Valerio Schiti slips just a little bit this issue, getting a bit quirky in the sequence in which the Thing is losing his temper on alter-Reed. It makes one want to see what a John Byrne or an Alan Davis might have done with that scene. I guess the tableau of Benjy venting his wrath on an already mentally beaten-up Reed is enough to make anyone's drawing style go a little wonky. The rest of this issue's story and art makes up for this. Read Full Review
Marvel Two-in-One is a tremendously fun series! It combines action, adventure, andcomedy with a little mystery all into one jam-packed story. Combining some superb writing with beautiful artwork, Marvel Two-in-One becomes the Fantastic Four series that we have all been missing in our lives. Seriously, if you are one of those people that have been complaining about not having a FF series you should be reading this. If you are not, and are still complaining, well, shame on you! "Marvel Two-in-One" #5 is an enjoyable diversion into an odd, unwieldy alternative Universe with an expertly illustrated level of polish. Read Full Review
Johnny and Ben watch the "Doom triumphant" AU spin toward its end, but their presence pushes AU Reed and some surprising allies into action. Forget all the "I can't wait for the FF to come back" stuff; this RIGHT HERE is everything you want from the Fantastic Four. Highest stakes, tremendous heart, and imaginative ideas, all conveyed with the strongest possible storytelling skills in words and art. The nonstop drumbeat of questions answered and new questions raised makes this issue both a delight in tself and a powerful advertisement for future issues.
This may be my favorite title right now. It's hitting all the right notes for this FF fan. I have never read anything by Chip Zdarsky before, but I am very impressed. He gets everyone's personality just right. And I like where the story is headed. Likewise, I am impressed with the artwork by Valerio Schiti. Lots of little touchs added into the artwork. I didn't realize how much I missed the FF until this book.
Another great issue. This series has finally got me purchasing a Marvel series for the first time in MANY years. I look forward to more in the future and can't wait for the new Fantastic Four series.
Welcome to the Oblivion Bar where the first round is on me and the pretzels are free! Be warned: like the pickled eggs at the bar, this issue is going to get SPOILED rotten.
Marvel 2-1 is an amazing book that every comic fan should read. It is currently one of my favorite titles and, as much as I want FF back with Fresh Start, I don’t want this run to stop. Heck, imagine an FF that includes our Ben and Johnny with this other earths Sue and Reed? Sign me up!
We get “some” info on this universes Johnny Storm, Sue, even The Surfer...... just a taste and enough to hook us in for even more. But we again find out that Reed failed and couldn’t save his world so Doom did and became Galactus. Now, Doom-lactus has liter more
Fantastic!!(Pun Intended) Zdarsky and Schiti/Martin are doing wonders with this book!
So it's Iron Doom vs. Doomactus? I'm in.
Great artwork and good dialogue makes this a great FF story. Valerio Schiti is no Jim Cheung, but manages to keep up with him.
Also Marvel, S.H.I.E.L.D. costumes look great. Especially Spider-Man's. Would you be kind and keep them?
Another perfect instalment. With a new Fantastic Four series coming soon (just how good is to finally know this?), and this series continuing, we are sure living in exciting times of comic books.
With this story and what he's been doing lately in "Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man," Chip Zdarsky is on a real multi-universe crossing trip--here Ben and Johnny find Reed and Sue, but it's a broken Reed who has failed to save a universe on the brink of extinction. Victor Von Doom is also on the scene, both as reluctant teammate to this sort-of FF, and as the destroyer himself, Doom as Galactus! Fun, well-paced, great characterization, solid art...really cool stuff going on in this book!
Another great issue of Marvel Two in One. Chip Zdarsky does it again. Great story, good pace, some emotional moments and a little something at the end that will leave u speechless.
Great Art by Schiti but at some point the body figure of a particular women isnt drawn really well. Also I dont know why, but the art on Rachna's face makes me feel like i want to punch her face. Other than that, the art on the other characters were great. Not to forget, the colouring by Frank Martin is phenomenal!
Overall a great issue, setting up something really big and exciting to come.
I am not a regular reader of Two-In-One. I actually picked it up because I read Kamala Khan in All New Wolverine and Spider-Man. Then I saw her in this issue and wondered how she ended up in so many books this week. While I did not get my answer I did get a surprise in this book. The story of a Galactus-Doom threat and an alternative world where Reed has given up had my interest. The version of S.H.I.E.L.D. in this world really had me. With Exiles coming up as multiverse jumpers it would be cool to see this world return...if it survives. What does that mean? You will have to read the issue to find out. See doesn't that sound like something you would want to pick up? That is probably while I will go back and read the full Fate of the Four stmore
Really enjoyed #2 and #3 but when it came to #4 it was a bit of a letdown from the previous issues and this issue was definitely an improvement but still not the best of the series
