But Why Tho? - William Tucker Nov 2, 2022

Secret Invasion #1 lives up to the name. Initially, reusing the concept of a comic that already exists means that it might be easy to see what is coming. However, this version of the Secret Invasion is not a rewriting of history but a spiritual sequel. At the moment, it isnt as expansive, which makes it more terrifying and intimate. As much as I adored the original event, this is a story that may be more approachable to new readers, not burdened with years of build-up and history. Secret Invasion, while not the first book I would've picked this morning at the comic store when new releases hit the shelves, was an unbridled success. I am pleasantly surprised. Secret Invasion #1 is a worthy successor to the event of the same name. While it hits a lot of the same beats to start, it's fun and entertaining capturing today's reality. Where it differs will be key and it'll be exciting to discover that as well as who we can and cannot trust. Read Full Review

    AIPT - David Brooke Nov 2, 2022

The twists and turns of a Skrull story are alive and well in Secret Invasion #1. Ryan North and Francesco Mobili capture the unease of not knowing who is good, bad, and everything in between. Read Full Review

Weird Science Marvel Comics - mrgabehernandez Nov 2, 2022

Secret Invasion #1 is a serviceable start to the latest attempt by the Skrulls to infiltrate the seats of power and take over the world. The issue gets off to a bumpy start, but once the plot is discovered, the pacing keeps the story flowing briskly and evenly. However, Maria Hill and her colleagues handle the situation a little too well, removing any feelings of paranoia or tension. Read Full Review
