    I want more Thanos Legacy and I want it now. I'm doing my best not to spoil the contents of this issue, but I am WILDLY intrigued as to where they are taking this. These creative teams are not playing it safe by any means, and this truly feels like a comic where the balance of the Marvel Cosmic titles will shift…oh, and there's Cosmic Ghost Rider using Hellfire in a way I've never seen before, so “must read”. Word Of The Nerd - Brent Jackson Sep 6, 2018

    Thanos Legacy #1 is a great start to this story and a good follow up to the Thanos Wins storyline. Cates seems to be one of the few writers concerned about continuity in the Marvel Universe which makes my comic geek heart swell. If you're at all invested in The Infinity Wars story then you definitely want to pick this up as well. Read Full Review

    Cates has a penchant for purple prose that fits the tone of this story like a glove (pun intended? You decide.) and by working in that mode, the issue feels a bit like a love letter to Marvel's past - namely, the works of Starlin, Claremont, Simonson and Lee. Read Full Review

    Thanos Legacy was a quicker read than I anticipated. I read it again immediately upon finishing it the first time and noticed that even though the story was setting up a larger narrative, it never wasted a panel or a word. Everything serves a purpose, and that is a huge testament to the creative team. Read Full Review

    It's an insightful look into the mind of the Mad Titan, and it definitely gets you excited for what's to come with the storyline going forward, especially given the massive cliffhanger at the end. Read Full Review

    Graphic Policy - Brett Sep 5, 2018

    The issue is a solid start and it's the back-up story from Duggan, Smith, and Redmond that really stand out. Overall, it feels like a chapter in Marvel's cosmic grand plan and one that if you're into that side of the Marvel Universe you'll want to check out. The fact it's also a good starting point makes it stand out as a comic to check out this week. Read Full Review

    Thanos Legacy #1 is disappointing. Despite having a strong back-up tale, the advertised filling of the gap between Thanos Wins and Infinity Wars only comes off as hot air and faffing about. One thing of note is learned, and it ironically happens after Thanos death. I can recommend this for those who are hurting for Thanos material, but I wouldnt say its worth the time or money of any other set of readers. Read Full Review

    It's been a notable part of Cates' work at Marvel that he is using continuity as clay to mould something new. Rather than Brian Bendis' approach, taking what he wanted, ignoring whatever he found tiresome, this is more like Alan Davis' work on Excalibur, taking everything no matter how bad and finding an artful way to make it fit. Cates' Thanos Wins was great this is a good continuation of that, with some ties to Infinity Wars and Cosmic Ghost Rider. Might not be the friendliest book for those that aren't up to date with past and current issues of these stories, but I'm all in so far.

    That’s a lot of space for more Donny Cates stories, maybe not in an exclusive Thanos title, but with this oneshots and in the Guardian of the Galaxy books (and maybe a Silver Surfer one?).

    They are stories of solitude, of hate/love, of belief, with strong certainties Thanos always pokes our own truths… even if I’m not the fan of the art, this work still makes me see the a big potential.

    OVERVIEW

    Story 1
    a) Writing/Script= 8.8/10 (D. Cates)
    b) Art= 6.5/10 (Brian Level)
    c) Colours= 7.0/10 (Jordan Boyd)

    Average= 7.43/10

    Story 2
    a) Writing/Script= 8.2/10 (G. Duggan)
    b) Art= 8.8/10 (Cory Smith)
    c) Colours= 9.0/10 (Ruth Redmond)

    Average= 8.67/10

    Overall Average= 8.05/10

    There are two stories here, one being written by Donny Cates and art by Brian Level and another story that was written by Gerry Duggan and art by Cory Smith.

    The first story by Donny Cates was good, well i cant say its awesome or anything because it is just a retelling of the old story. Nothing new (well actually a few things new). It just ties every Thanos more

    I really enjoyed Lemire's and Cates's Thanos runs and this is a nice little cap to that, especially Cates run obviously. While the art looked great and fit the story, the story itself was a very serviceable recap of the events that have been unfolding with Thanos since the end of Thanos Wins. It's not anything new, but it is very entertaining. The end, while a pretty interesting cliffhanger, could turn into something pretty dumb if not done correctly. The backup story to me was kind of useless and I would have preferred more of the main story.

    Donny Cates and Brian Level tapdance for 18 pages before introducing the raw nub of an idea that MIGHT grow into The Next Thanos Story. Gerry Duggan and Cory Smith do tons more with their 10-page backup, telling a grim, complete, dialogue-free story of Thanos's parenting of Gamora.

    There's a palpable difference between a Donny Cates story that started with Mr. Cates pitching an awesome idea to an editor and one that started as an editor asking Mr. Cates for X pages of "trademark Donny Cates awesomeness." The A story in this book is a textbook example of the latter and all the potential faults therein.

    Donny Cates wrote a truly great Thanos run, but now it just seems that he has no good material left.

    I expected nothing for this. Just something interesting. And in a way I have something interesting. But maybe too much reminder from recent books. I find a little easy that cates pull Castle/Rider in this. I prefer the link to Damnation.

    Cover - In a way thanos in front of is enormous statu is a reflect of the writer in front of a fantastic roster of writer that give life to thanos before. Really Nice. 1.5/2
    Writing - I'm a little bothered to read a title with the name of a character but not with him. Just that what the character left. Not what I come for. I find the gamora story better, even if once more it wasn't what I expect to find in this title 2/2
    Arts - The first story Isn't great. Beyond Ghost rider, all the ot more
