This miniseries proves there's still plenty of ground left to cover with the pairing of the Batman and TMNT families. This sequel feels at once more dramatically ambitious and more intimate than its predecessor. At the same time, the book hasn't lost sight of the sheer fun and bombastic nature of this pairing. It might be that both stories are about talented heroes fighting crime in the dead of night. With both sets of heroes spending years and years training to personify justice. Batman/TMNT II kicks things off with a bang, presenting an action packing issue, with some intriguing story beats I cant wait to see addressed in future issues. There's something about the free spirit attitude of the Turtles mixed with the dark and broody Batman I really dig, so sign me up for 6 more issues of this right now. Read Full Review

While I was not the biggest fan of the first series I still liked it and, with the start of Batman TMNT II #1, I feel like I might enjoy the sequel more. With Tynion exploring Donnie's inner turmoil about lagging behind his brothers and with some energetic art by Williams and Colwell,Batman TMNT II is off to a great start. The Batman/Turtles crossover continues to show us that the Dark Knight does not have to be serious and brooding all the time and sometimes you just need a slice of pizza to join in the fun. If you have read the first six issue series of this book, you know what to expect and if you did not and are fans of the property, you can definitely jump in here as it is a self-contained story in its own right. The issue is all setup, but does it in a way that's intriguing and really does well to play off the strengths of each set of characters. The fun begins with this unexpected cross over which is sure to please fans of DC and IDW comics. The main villain from Batman's rogues gallery seems to be the right fit for this tale as we look into the face of fear and wonder if the Batman, even with the help of his new friends can complete the task at hand. Not to mention that the events that take place could lead to more of the Dark Knight's rogues gallery showing up and causing problems. Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II #1 is a strong start to the latest crossover between two of the most well known comic franchises. James Tynion picking up directly where the previous crossover left off gave even more weight to the consequences of an alliance between Ra's Al Ghul and Shredder. The fallout of the alliance's failure along with Donatello's personal character arc that opens this first issue makes Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II an intriguing comic to follow for fans of both franchises. Largely humorless and, quite frankly, boring, Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II is off to a rough start. Now that the re-introductions are out of the way, here's hoping the story moves along at a better, faster clip. It still looks great, though, so even if the story doesn't grab you the artwork surely will. I didn't even have a doubt to take it, I really enjoyed the first volume of the ongoing.
I enter this story with no doubt and maybe that hide me a rough start (To the first page to the middle of the book, but then that's just fun and fun). I find interesting to focus on donatello even if for my part I never find it a less good fighter than is brothers (But in truth I just know of the 90's animated version of him, and what I read in Batman TMNT volume 1).
I am impatient to see Batman in the TMNT world, having him encountering April (And maybe tell her she remember him a little of Lois ^^ )
I didn't know of Shredder Daughter & the differents gang, but I'm sure thanks to Bane I will enkoy them been brought together by him.

Loved it the first time around and this sets up its second installment of this crossover really well. Even if you missed their first adventure no need to fear. Don't let the number "II" steer you away. Give this book a shot and if you like it go back and get the trade of the first one! Fun book, great art, and lots of Bats and Turtles
