Dark Knight News - Adam Ray

Batman & The Joker: The Deadly Duo #2 has again given us a rich detective narrative, wrapped up in the rounded and real look of Gotham. The mystery's immersing Batman into some intense moral dilemmas and the matter of just how much we can trust the foaming-at-the-mouth Joker, if at all, is always in question. This is effortless and gripping storytelling by a team of true masters in the art of crafting comics. Read Full Review

This comic is a great time. It isn't the most profound story ever but it isn't supposed to be. It's just well written and brilliantly drawn. Strongly recommended. Read Full Review

Nevertheless, just like Batman #130 this week, Batman & The Joker: The Deadly Duo #2 has some rather stellar plot threads for readers to pull that make this tale intriguing while garnering a strong sense of mystery and detective storytelling. Whos behind all of this and why are they basically cloning Jokers? And what connection does this all have to do with the Waynes? There is so much meat on the bone making this reviewer excited for the future of this series. Yet, Im reviewing THIS issue which was again overcompensating with action instead of pulling these enigmatic plot threads that could hold the story together on their own. Let me know what you think, have a great week, and God Bless! Read Full Review

Batman & The Joker: The Deadly Duo #2continues to explore the dynamic between its titular characters while also delivering plenty of action and humor. So far, I've been pleasantly surprised by this comic, and I hope that feeling continues, especially as the last page teases a whole new world of trouble for Batman and the Joker. Read Full Review

The Deadly Duo continues to give readers the purest form of the Batman/Joker relationship. Without all the trappings of a main continuity story, The Deadly Duo has free reign to relish in the delightfully dark and impish interactions between its two leads. Read Full Review

Batman & The Joker: The Deadly Duo #2 is an entertaining read. It doesn't fall into "90s issues we see from others who "return to comics and instead plays off Marc Silvestri's strengths that made his creator owned work stand out from the crowd. There's a lot here to enjoy and fans of Silvestri, want to see Batman and Joker team up, or like a little horror, will want to check this one out. Read Full Review

Things feel cluttered, story wise and while dark and gritty with a sharper edge is something that should work for Batman, this issue veers a little too far into the grim and the weird, ultimately creating a lack of balance that throws the whole issue off. Read Full Review

The art is so good. Definitely carrying this series so far. The plot itself is good but can't see how this going to string out for 5 more issues, but all the reviews for future issues are great so I am hopeful

This is very good. Still impressed with Silvestri's writing. We all knew his art would be great, but I've been pleasantly surprised by his ability as a writer.

The art is phenomenal. This second issue though lacks the intrigue I felt from the first issue. Nonetheless enjoying it very much and can't wait for #3!

The art is great and though Joker stayed tied up for most of the issue, the beginning battle and dialogue were great. The art is phenomenal. Overall a good book so far.

Not bad. I've seen better, but I've also seen a lot worse. Just so long as we can avoid the "Why don't you kill him" matter we may be able to get somewhere with this. I just pray that's not what things are going to lead up to when it's time for them to face our mystery friend responsible for all this mess. If it is I'll set fire to the books. That's how tired I truly am of how of that issue has been brought up in almost every Joker story over the last 20+ years. Otherwise I'm pleased with how it's gone so far. This isn't Batman's first time he's had to work with the joker, but it may be the toughest one. I really don't know how Joker has managed to recover from all those beatings he's taken from Batman over the years. I'm surprised the D more

I actually kinda like this one. Silvestri writes pretty fun Joker/Batman interactions. The art drags this book tho. It's like Tony S. Daniel but with bad shading.
