When crooks break into the pawn shop where Catwoman has set up her secret headquarters, they make off with a personal item that she has to get back. The trail of loot leads her to the Broker, the man who moves all illicit merchandise in Villa Hermosa. Now, Catwoman could just walk in and ask for her property back, but that's never been Catwoman's style. Instead, she's going to pull off a heist that will teach her foe a lesson, making sure the Broker never crosses the Cat ever again. This special one-off issue is written by acclaimed writer Ram V. (BATMAN: SECRET FILES) and artist John Timms (HARLEY QUINN).
With this issue Selina has acquired a talented pair of accomplices in Ram V and John Timms. Itd be nice to see her working with the two of them in more of a long-term relationship. Naturally the dynamic would be likely to change throughout a multi-issue story, but its undeniable that Ram V and Timms have done something here that manages to rival anything that Jones had built-up in her initial run writing AND drawing the series. The cleverly concise 22 pages here feel every bit as masterful as Kyle herself in a thoroughly enjoyable issue. Next month Selina saunters back over to work with Jolle Jones with artist Fernando Blanco to resume the regular chronicles of the Catwoman. Read Full Review
A lot of brave things have happened. It's risky to jump between creative team, but it's even more bold to change teams after a change in story direction. I said in my review for the previous issue that they needed to stick the landing, and this creative team has done that in spades here. Sure, I can see the threads of an ongoing story in the characters and setup here, but I can also see elements from the past issue moving forward. I can imagine some combination of both with unforeseen consequences. The title is as free now as it's ever been, making it an exciting read. Read Full Review
A terrific synthesis of a tightly written and engrossing Mission Impossible-type one-shot story with gorgeous art makes Catwoman #9 a must-read. Read Full Review
My only complaint is where they put this issue. A storyline was already in progress from issue 8 and this interrupted the flow of that story. I understand the need for fill ins but I was invested in that previous story and now I have to wait another month. It's a minor complaint of course as this issue is very good, but it needed to be said. Read Full Review

Genuinely entertaining and loads of fun, this is Catwoman the way she was meant to be seen! Read Full Review
Ram V and John Timms craft a standalone issue that definitely fits within Jones' interpretation of the character while still taking things to some rather fun places. Read Full Review
Catwoman #9 is a well written one-shot story. Ram V's story is works extremely well as an entry point for this series as everything about who Selina Kyle is on fully display throughout this issue. Keeping the story simple to a heist that Selina begins and ends successfully made everything that happened even more compelling. If you were looking for a place to start reading Selina Kyle's solo adventures Catwoman #9 is a great place to start. Read Full Review
It largely feels in line with the regular series " entertaining, but never quite great. Read Full Review
A fun, done in one story, it's an entertaining read, but weirdly placed in the middle of a bigger story arc. Read Full Review
Ram V and John Timms give Catwoman fans a little Oceans 11 action this month and this one-shot looked great, but overall, the story is pretty forgettable. Forgettable but fun enough for regular readers to get their Catwoman does this month and get back to things next issue with little fuss and hardly any muss. Read Full Review
Though fun and a fitting Catwoman story, you can feel it hitting the expected beats, right down to the requisite mid-heist twist, one-by-one, even if it gets to each one in time with the rhythm. Read Full Review
The silhouette action scene was fantastic. This was a fun one and done.
This one shot issue is actually pretty good! Great artwork! We meet some new characters who will show up in the book more, hopefully this detective shows up to replace the previous one. Enjoyed the dialogue. Going to let it go that the Liu didn’t have any backup and could drop James from tying him up. Definitely recommend this issue!
I like a good heist as much as the next girl, but I just feel like this could have been so much more than it was.
Not bad, but also not really good. It’s just a story about Catwoman robbing stuff. I liked the Detective, so hope he appears in future issues.
This issue is a resounding "Meh."
This sounded like it was going to be such a fun issue. Someone stealing from Cat should have been interesting but it wasn't. This story held such promise. It would have been a blast if only it had been written so differently. How can you take such a wild fun character and make her so boring? This story should have been crazy good. Come on this is Catwoman!!!
Who’s this random dude detective? Why does Catwoman book always have some detective stand in for Bruce. This is Selina Kyle not Patience Phillips
