"The Professional" part 3! After Slade discovers that someone has put a contract out on his daughter, Rose Wilson-a.k.a. The Ravager-Deathstroke reluctantly travels to New York City to save her from a deadly ambush.
Joe Bennetts art is a great follow-up to the tone set by Carlo Pagaluyan in the first three issues. The gritty art matches up well with the turn this issue takes with showing the lengths Slade will go to protect someone he cares about, even if that doesnt come across. Theres also a great deal of care taken to establish how while Rose is the daughter of Deathstroke, shes less like him and more like her mentor Dick Grayson, her more careful style contrasting towards the easy surgical style Slade takes to eliminate his targets. That said, this book continues to up its game, if youre looking for whats probably the best book in DC Rebirth, youre probably looking at it, its worth the $2.99 and more. Read Full Review
If we talking that real, then this is a great issue for Deathstroke. We're seeing more to Slade than just being guns, swords, and body counts. We're seeing how real a pro in the mercenary world works, on some true zero dark thirty game type of shit people. Read Full Review

Joe Bennett is an old time 2000s DC Comics artist who could draw good looking women. Im glad that he is back for this issue as it focuses on Ravager. Bennett is a pro. His work follows the lead established by Carlo Pagulayan but with less flash. What he loses in flash, he makes up in solid storytelling and a double-cross set up that remarkably enhances Priest complicated premise. Read Full Review
It's a great take on the character, and one that finally allows Deathstroke to reach his potential as a solo player again. Read Full Review
Deathstroke #3 is a great read, especially if you've already been following the character. The story is awesome and Joe Bennett's detailing is amazing and showcased perfectly. You can see how distinct he makes Rose's and Slade's suits and both look great! I love how Rose pays homage to her father with her uniform without exactly copying his style. Priest himself makes the book completely stand on its own so this is a book you can actually read without having read the previous issues. I know I've said it in my reviews before, but I have to compliment how much of a fresh look Priest is giving us with Deathstroke's character. Here in this particular issue we see how he copes with loss, and what it does to him. Not to spoil it for you, but I believe this particular loss leads to his focusing on protecting Rose so much, so it's good to see a real villain with a conscience. I wasn't disappointed reading Deathstroke #3 — and you won't be, either! Read Full Review
Deathstroke is a title that won't live or die on the strength of the art. Obviously, with Pagulayan the art is top notch, but Priest's take on the characters is what's making this an engaging read. Read Full Review
While Christopher Priest seems to have signed up for this book only to confuse people, he finally lets his guard down a bit and gives the reader some pretty cool story with a promising cliffhanger. Joe Bennett's art makes it all look great and while I still can't recommend this to everyone, it's getting there. Read Full Review
This is a richly woven and gripping run by Priest. I'm really impressed so far - with a title I hadn't initially anticipated getting beyond the first Rebirth issue. The art as always is solid, and I'm looking forward to what Priest has in line for us next.
I'll say it again, Priest really knows how to write dialogue. Not only does it feel completely natural, he also manages to give each character their own voice, instead of just the same stuff coming out of different mouths. But besides that, issue is another knockout, mainly because of the intriguing and seamless introduction of Deathstroke's daughter adding new layers to an already complex story.
Priest is killing it
took to issue 3 to explain wtf happened over the first two issues?
