"PERFECT STORM" part five! With the Flash Family hot on his heels, Barry takes the fight to Grodd. If he's going to survive, he'll need to steal his powers back and stop Grodd by any means necessary!
After an extended time of seeing Barry struggling with negativity, we finally get a glimpse of Barry's optimism shining through again. Although it is a fascinating direction to see Barry struggling with a crisis of faith, it's great to see this finally resolved. Read Full Review
The Flash rarely disappoints and this arc has exceeded expectations on the first Rebirth take on the Flash/Grodd rivalry. Read Full Review
This issue begins with Gorilla Grodd accuses Barry of having self-seeking motives for being The Flash. His team of speedsters confronts Barry for his selfishness. However, the team of speedsters unite as family to oppose Grodd's control of the Speed Force and Central City Read Full Review
I really like Carnie Di Giandomenicos work this issue. It works well even though he does not draw many repetitions of the Flash within one panel. There is feeling that the character is moving fast, regardless. Read Full Review
After several chapters building up to this moment, this issue is almost entirely a showdown between Barry and Grodd. Read Full Review
In the end, this issue may be a letdown in terms of Barrys actions seeming out of character, but its still a fun ride. Grodd was as menacing as ever and the action didnt stop, so there is very little to complain about. With Barrys bad choices adding fuel to the fire for the coming Flash War, surely Williamsons questionable story elements will be addressed some time in the near future. Read Full Review
A great issue with some amazing visuals. Read Full Review
A much better issue than last writing wise and Di Giandomenicos art is great with Plascencias colours this week. Read Full Review
Di Giandomenico's style is an acquired taste, but the visual conceit of depicting the speedsters with squiggly lines to suggest their continual motion is a marvelous conceit. It just works much better in a story where not ALL the characters are moving at super-speed. Read Full Review
This issue, though, is a lot of running in place, and for the first time in the current storyline feels like padding that could have been halved or entirely left out. Read Full Review
We get an average issue, thats pretty typical of this Flash series and run to date, with one more issue to fill out the arc to come that I'm not over excited for, even with Grodd as our villain. The main story revolves around poorly built devices that move the issue forward with little explanation, rhythm, or reason most times. I just wish Barry wasn't so frustratingly wishy-washy about his family relationships. It feels like he's either mad at, or making up with someone, every issue. I'd recommend this only for serious Flash collectors, or Rebirth series regulars, otherwise wait it out until Flash War hopefully reinvigorates this titles direction. Read Full Review
It was realy good when i was reading it i was vibbing action was fantastic it deserve to 9.5 so easily
Seems the critics and fans actually agree on a rating for once which is odd to see haha. But I fully agree that this book is deserving of an 8/10 as it had good action, good art and continued an interesting story which continues to build hype to flash wars
The story is just ok. But the artwork really stood out in this issue! Beautiful work by Di Giandomenico! I love it! Now if we could only get a great story to go along with it, this book would be outstanding! Let's go...!
A bit less exciting than the past couple issues, but still pretty good. Nice to see Di Giandomenico on art again. I am still enjoying this arc but I am glad that it's ending next issue, as it's starting to drag.
Welcome to the Oblivion Bar where the first round is on me and the pretzels are free! Be warned: like the pickled eggs at the bar, this issue is going to get SPOILED rotten.
We get to see Barry with powers AGAIN and running from Team Flash and Grodd. He gets a moment breakthrough to Wally who comes up with an idea but doesn’t have enough time to share it with Barry.
However, it turns out, as we take a trip down J-Dubs run of how depressed and emo Barry has been during his run, Barry has actually been collecting parts to alter the lightening wand to not only save Grodd’s life but to take his connection to the speed force for good.
Grodd is back to his old, large, mind control ape-self. Well, Grodd can’ more
This story arc is incredibly uneven. Full of high points and low points. The last issue was a really low low point. This one is an improvement.
Amazing art by Carmine Di Giandomenico and we get to see a little glimpses of Barry Allen we all know and love. Hopefull and ready to do his best to save the day.
