Jason Shawn Alexander's art continues to be perfect for this series. This is not your typical superhero comic book. Grit and edge define this series. The writing was good (but not great). Can't wait to see Overtkill in action again.

Spawn #287

By: Todd McFarlane, Jason Shawn Alexander
Released: Jul 4, 2018

Spawn busts out of jail, and a prison riot ensues as he gets closer to his wife's murderer.

Love the shout out to the tv series - reporter "McGee!" Can't wait to hear Bruce say: "Mr. McGee don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry."

Immortal Hulk #2

By: Al Ewing, Joe Bennett
Released: Jul 4, 2018

A random small-town tragedy. A mystery illness that spreads with grief. A green glow on a lonely mountain. Three puzzle pieces that fit together to make a nightmare. And the only mind on Earth than can connect them up...belongs to the Immortal Hulk.

It's tough to read and try to enjoy this on the heels of Batman #50. Thanks Tom King!

The wedding night's barely over, but Catwoman's back on the streets, this time to expose a copycat who's pulling heists around Gotham City. As Selina cracks the whip on her former criminal cohorts, she's attracting unwanted attention from one of Gotham's most dangerous groups. The mob? Nope. Try the GCPD. A good start for new writer Dan Jurgens and artist Mike Perkins. This is the best GLs issue in a long time. It has a true GLC feeling. It's good to see other GLC members in the book besides Jessica and Simon. I'm excited to see where this new storyline goes!

i should have known to stay away the first time i left this series. but i allowed myself to be lured back with false hope. what's worse is so many stories leading up to this issue have been nothing more than useless filler!!

there is a poor excuse of a twist at the end that’s supposed to set up what’s to come.

Talon1load - you're right! to be fair, i really enjoyed BvS when i saw it in the theater. i even bought the blu ray as well. but it definitely is a guilty pleasure. i can admittedly see it for all it's flaws. but as you said, it DOES NOT deserve to be lumped in with the filthy mess that is Tom King's Batman. lol

that was just AWFUL!

Tom King not only does not understand these characters,
but he wastes an entire issue showing that he has no idea what to do with them either.

just pointless filler before the wedding issue.

i'm not a fan of this traced art.

Joker puts a gun to Batman’s head and Batman just stops. Then Joker threatens to kill himself and not only does Batman stop again, but he kneels down next to him as asked. Has Tom King ever read a Batman comic? Has he read any DC book ever? He has no feel for the characters. Makes them act completely out of character. I did like the maniacal, homicidal Joker.

i find it hilarious that people actually accept this trash interpretation of Batman. Tom King writes Batman as such an incompetent boob. it's like he's trying to make a parody of the character.
