Seems to be the new prog reaction here * I wanted to review this early because some people upset me".
Greatest Batman comics of all time. If only Tom King could write Batman forever, not only is he the best Batman writer of all time but he also is amazing at picking artists. 10/10 will cherish his Batman run forever, he understand Batman better than anyone else in the industry or Fandom.
Wedding bells are finally ringing for Batman and Catwoman! As our story concludes, the lovers prepare to take the next steps in their lives together by trading everlasting vows. The Bat/Cat wedding is here, and knowing Bruce and Selina, it'll be anything but conventional. You won't want to miss this final chapter of Tom King's Batman epic!
Again, I have to reiterate what I said on the Dark Knights of Steel review: why are some people so defensive of the writers they like? And why does that ALWAYS, always happen just with the Two Toms: King and Taylor? Bendis is getting all types of awful reactions (and deservedly so!), people don't jump to his defense though I'm pretty sure Bendis also has a lot of fans from his better days. I don'tmore
Christopher Chance has made a living out of being a human target-a man hired to disguise himself as his client to invite would-be assassins to attempt his murder. He’s had a remarkable career until his latest case protecting Lex Luthor when things go sideways. An assassination attempt Chance didn’t see coming leaves him vulnerable and left tryi...
The only comic Ive ever hated was Rob Liefields, Hawk and Dove from new 52, and it wasnt because of his art. Only trade paperback Ive ever ripped up, couldnt stand to keep it in my collection. This was when I first started reading comics, I hadnt even known he was famous in the 90s.
Pulled apart and torn together! Setting new boundaries in their relationship leads to conflict at home and on the mean streets of Gotham for Batman and Catwoman. With opportunists like the Penguin waiting in the wings to strike, our hero becomes more vulnerable than ever. Meanwhile, Phantasm locates her target-The Joker!
When Batman begins to doubt Catwoman’s allegiance, it leads to trouble on the streets of Gotham. Who does Selina support: Joker, Phantasm, or the Dark Knight? Well, he’ll soon find out that some questions are better left unasked. If he’s going to test her loyalty, she’s going to test his mettle. Thus, Bruce Wayne finds himself locked in a b...
As mysteries deepen, so do resentments. Throughout her life, Catwoman’s actions have caused many close to her to doubt her motivations. Bruce Wayne, Phantasm, and now her daughter have all had their suspicions about her deals with The Joker. And when she killed the old clown, did it trigger this feline’s ninth life? Or maybe it was really over ...
Batman’s two loves collide, and the smash-up could be dangerous not just for the Caped Crusader, but for The Joker as well. In order to prove her mission is righteous, Phantasm takes Catwoman out on a hit against one of the men responsible for the disappearance of her son. Unfortunately for Selina Kyle, this isn’t the first time she’s gone be...
The Joker has hidden a bomb in Gotham-but there might be a bigger explosion if Batman proves his suspicions true, and Catwoman actually knows where it is! It’s a dangerous secret that threatens to destroy the couple’s relationship in its early days, and it’s going to reverberate throughout their time together. In the present day, it will affe...
Phantasm has come to Gotham City! Andrea Beaumont, the one-time love of Bruce Wayne, is looking for her lost child, and she’s pretty sure The Joker is involved. So, who better to have as an ally than Batman? And what better way to get to Batman than through Catwoman? It’s a knotted history for this costumed quartet, spanning past, present, and ...
At last, Tom King returns to the rocky, romantic saga of Batman and Catwoman with his Heroes in Crisis collaborator, superstar artist Clay Mann!
Echoing plot points from King’s epic Batman run, this sweeping tale is told across three timelines: the past, when the Bat and the Cat first fell in love; the present, where their union is threat...
Why King always needs to make the life of the characters he write miserable?
Or why he always want to make them murderous? :(
Or other most important question, why DC still trying to make Kara's life miserable??
First with her last ongoing series in the last arc. Later Future Grim State, and now this.
I was very hopeful for Kara future since good characterization of more
Kara Zor-El has seen some epic adventures over the years, but finds her life without meaning or purpose. Here she is, a young woman who saw her planet destroyed and was sent to Earth to protect a baby cousin who ended up not needing her. What was it all for? Wherever she goes, people only see her through the lens of Superman’s fame. Just when Sup...
Before becoming a Superwoman, Kara awkwardly enters adulthood. I like how Tom King writes Kara like a legendary hero in a similar manner to Red Sonja. She's found a world to thrive on and isn't held back by her past here. But she doesn't quite understand what it means to be an adult yet; does anybody who turns 18 or 21 feel any different than they do as teenagers? So when a child asks for her helpmore

Haters on here are out of their minds....what Supergirl comic in the last five years has been NEAR this level of fun? Please let me know....This was a great issue with a more adult F--- you Kara and it worked. Maybe people were upset about the Dog...understandable.

My first review for Comic Book Roundup ... how exciting!
A straightforward yet captivating story that left me wanting more. This iteration of Supergirl seems to be alarming a few readers however this is the first issue, we need to give Tom King time to delve into the series. There may be an explanation for Karas unusual behaviour. The medieval styled language makes for good comedy and i more

I found this to be quite a lot of fun and incredible artwork from Bilquis Everly. The story has great character stakes for a character that I wasn’t previously interested in. Another great book from Tom King.

Art is a 9-10, but this isn't a Supergirl comic so I can't give anything else than a 1.
I buy a comic with Supergirl on it, I expect Supergirl in it. It's like if I buy a pizza and get a fish dish. It might be well made fish dish, but I ordered pizza.
This is not Kara, it's Rooster Cogburn wearing a Supergirl-Edgar-Suit.

She didnt start a fight, she protected a girl who was attacked and robbed. Alcohol is not only bad people, its common for all types of people to celebrate with it. To have kara wait till she is 21 goes to show what a girlscout she actually is, and you can obviously tell... this is her first time. Im just fine with this being a depiction of 21 year old kara myself.
"Rooster Cogburn wearing a Supergirl Edgar-suit" God, that's funny. Well put.
Nice art, derivative writing.

Wow! This was atrocious even by Tom King standards. It sounded like something Bendis would write, but I'm sure Tom thought he sounded highly intelligent, just as his fans love to think about themselves. Poor Supergirl, after the cringey tv show and the bad comics from the last years, now she has to go through this torture too. I wouldn't be surprised if she becomes a villain after this, it's King'more

Merlyn, your a fat idiot that needs to go outside more instead of being obssessed with a writer who doesn't know you exist. Maybe even talk to a breathing female for once instead of the corpses we all know you like to play with ;)
Direct block. And I'm not even going to unblock you because it's not the first time you come out of nowhere with nothing but insults. Like in football, you get two yellow cards, it's a red.
It's one of Tom King's best first issues! Kara doesn't seem out of character here, King finds a nice balance of her shedding her teenage years and coming into adulthood as many people have. Bilquis Evely is stellar as always. One of the best artists of our generation.

Wow. This was something else. Tom King is triyng to redefine an old and secundary character, and this is a bold and fantastic start.

This is basically True Grit in comic form. Supergirl is Jeff Bridges/John Wayne. Not the most original start to a tale of revenge but classic and fun no doubt. I feel its more a 7.5/8 out of 10 for me, but I gotta rate it a 10 because of all the irrational haters who rate Kings comics 1 and have literally nothing interesting to say in their reviews. Def wanna see where this one is going, yet anothmore

It’s been The Joker all along, you see.
Selina Kyle knows this. Early in her career as Catwoman, he was there to mess things up for her. Same with later, when she and Batman were finally getting together...for the third time, but still. Tom King is the best writer (and the best Batman writer) in years. I can’t get enough. This is why I read superhero comics.

That was brutal. As I got toward the end I kept checking how many pages were left and how much longer I'd have to endure it, since I'm giving each of the FS titles a full issue's chance. This was the worst of them so far. I can't remember the last time I gave so low a score.
I don't give low scores because I don't like how my favorite characters are being treated, or because they're "wr more

I agree in many ways with Linkush, this isn't a real ending and I was flipflopping on if I was completely satisfied with it. Hopefully it will be all wrapped up completely in Batman/Catwoman (especially since Gotham Girl is supposed to marry Duke by the end of his run, and that doesn't happen here). However as a celebration of this run I couldn't be more happy. Allegories out the wazoo with the fomore

Greatest Batman run ever. Can't wait for the Batman/Catwoman mini series.
Strange that alot of peole think this is some kinda ending, cause its not... we have only been told just over 85% of the story.
So yeah, a lot of people have been writing sloppy reviews and should probably stop and think before they go blabbering on about workings they can barely understand.

It's chapter nine of "City of Bane," and it's time for a reckoning in Gotham City! Thomas Wayne has joined forces with Bane, and that alliance threatens to throw a monkey wrench into Batman's plans. There is a lot that I liked about this issue. I liked the twist ending of Thomas shooting Bruce and Bane. I hope Bane is dead but I doubt that will happen. The fight between Batman and Bane was good. Loved Catwomans part in it. It was cool how they tricked Bane into fighting fair only to double cross him. Wicked cool. I loved how it appears I was right about it really being all Thomas's show and tmore
