With Eclipso by her side, the new goddess of magic, Circe, is unstoppable! As she rewrites the rules of magic, the Justice League Dark must work to free themselves from Eclipso's grasp. Can they escape in time to save magic from the clutches of the Injustice League Dark once and for all? Or are they doomed to spend eternity trapped in the shadows?
This title is exquisite torture… and I love it. Read Full Review
For as up and down this series has been, Justice League Dark #18 might be the best issue in the run in a long while. Read Full Review
This is a continuity-lover's dream book, and I hope it stays as strong as it transitions to a new writer. Read Full Review
Alvaro Martinez Bueno delivers some stunning art in this issue. The action is thrilling and everything looks fantastic. Read Full Review
So far, this story arc has been a lot of buildup. It's that climb up the first big hill of a roller coaster. By the end of this issue, we've reached the top and we're just about to go careening down with equal parts excitement and dread. Characters are about to make some tough decisions that could change a great deal not only for them, but for the DC Universe as a whole. I think we can all agree that's some pretty cool stuff. Justice League Dark #18 was a solid continuation of "The Witching War." Things slow down in this issue as a lot of characters from Wonder Woman to Zatanna to Circe make choices that will affect the future of this series. In going with this direction for Justice League Dark #18 James Tynion and Alvaro Martinez Bueno build greater anticipation for how "The Witching War" will conclude. Read Full Review
The book is still well-written and gorgeous, but the stakes have lost their meaning. Read Full Review
There's not a ton of progression this issue, but we did have some elements that will lead to some very interesting developments in issues to come and for the most part I enjoyed everything we got here. The art was great and the tension is high as our heroes decide that there's little recourse than to take a terrible option to defend themselves and I can't wait to see how it turns out as our story continues. This is a really forgettable issue that manages to take some great ideas and make them seem irrelevant through lack of attention. It's worth reading if you've been enjoying the series so far and want to read the whole thing but otherwise don't bother. The art is the best thing about this issue. Read Full Review
One of the best ongoing in the DC catalogue. Everything's great from the story to the art. I really dig this series and i give me hope for Tynion's run on Batman
Prelude:
It's the fifth part of the Witching War. Let's see what Tynion has in store for us this month.
The Good:
I love Constantine's "plan".
The Upside-Down Man was great.
That cliffhanger!!!
That is some great art and layouts from Bueno and Fernandez.
The Bad:
Nothing.
Conclusion:
Another great issue from Tynion. I am loving the Witching War and this issue easily shows why.
The build-up to Tynion's grand finale. This is a pretty suspenseful issue with Circe adding more to her forces and Wonder Woman striking a bargain with the Upside Down Man.
This is beginning to kind of drag for me. Like it’s just too much of the same thing over and over, I don’t feel super invested in it anymore.
Pivoting : /
A good issue, but a little slow. The team is pretty much at their most desperate now, not worrying about what their actions are going to cost them. Plus, Circe ressurected a Dragon, so that's cool.
" Okay, yeah. This is really quite bad, isn't it ? "

Decompression is taking its toll. I am not sure I remember what's been going on, in fact.
I don't know what it is, but I just feel fatigue from this. I don't really look forward to this title. I think it's repetitive, and I'm tired of this magic is dying story. It doesn't feel like it is going to end soon but every arc expects the reader to think that this time it's actually really important and the stakes couldn't be higher. Cue next arc where things are even worse and it's actually really important. I think I just don't have the patience for these attempts at pulling a Hickman. It takes a lot of talent and some luck to make that work, and you actually need an idea and a story dense enough to warrant that type of long epic storytelling. And you need to be willing to delve into the minutia of it, and not just do the same arc agamore
