With The Terrifics, DC is doing a better version of the Fantastic Four than Marvel making for a high quality ready with each issue. Read Full Review
Lemire and Luis deliver an exciting issue of THE TERRIFICS! A stunning revelation is made, and the issue ends on an exciting cliffhanger! Read Full Review
Once again another fantastic issue from Jeff Lemire with some superb art from Jose Luis. Read Full Review
Still, I completely enjoyed reading the issue, so that has to count for something. Read Full Review
The whole series is one of the most pure fun comics DC is putting out, combining great art and fast-paced storytelling with a Silver Age aesthetic where anything can happen. Read Full Review
Lus and Lemire know how to have fun with this particular cast. It's definitely a particular niche when it comes to science driven heroes, but it's one that I continue to have a good time with. Read Full Review
The Terrifics #9 was a fun chapter they put all the pieces into place for the climax to this arc. As I said above, everything is coming full circle for this main storyline. Who is behind the mask of Doc Dread was no big shocker, but it was the personal stakes set through the reveal that grabs your attention most. Read Full Review
What other comic can offer Plastic Man's antics, a guest appearance of Swamp Thing, and a nod to classic Warner Bros. cartoons, and still tell a pretty good story? Plas and Metamorpho are what originally drew me to this book, but I am quickly growing attached to the rest of the cast. The Terrifics is one of the most fun comics currently being put out. The art in the issue is well done. Nothing really stood out in the action, but the depiction of Swamp Thing was well done and the final page contained a solid reveal. Read Full Review
For a comic with so much promise, The Terrifics seems like "just" another superhero book in this issue, and that's disappointing. Read Full Review
The Terrifics' train rolls on to parts unknown, and I think I'm ready to get off. Everything looks great, but there's no story to hold on to. For three bucks, it's not a bad artist's showcase, but I can't help but feel a more substantive title could be in this slot. Read Full Review
How anyone can hate this series is beyond me.
Dc didn't push this far enough. A little "The doom of the heroes" in the cover and that will make this a all different level. Right ?
Ok I find to easy that Dalhua save herself alone, succeed in going back to Tom Strong Lab & take a machine to saving every one (Her man included). No I'm not a Macho who can't see a woman do herself the job. I piss about having wrong with the new bendis character in the Daily Planet (I was so sure it was Tesla or Dalhua).
That said the best FF story against some dumb doombot that I ever read ... Sorry Dreadbot.
I'm so thrilled to have right on one thing : Dread identity (A.K.A spoiler/cliffhanger)
It was nice to se Michael & Tom doing a team-up so great. I love how that work to have both t more
Dread Drones... brilliant.
This is right up my alley as someone who loves Looney Tunes and Fantastic Four. I hope other writers keep Doctor Dread around, the DC universe could use a Doctor Doom.
I know I'll sound like a broken record, but The Terrifics is a proven, consistent powerhouse of fun, and (arguably?) the best New Age of Heroes run. It's vibrant, full of heart, comedy and the chemistry between main characters is oustanding, even though they haven't spent much time together in this particular issue.
Highly recommend the issue. Plastic Man fans will be pleased to know their favourite hero can shine in comics other than his limited solo series currently suffering from a significant quality drop.
I continue to enjoy this comic in a broad sense, but it’s nothing spectacular.
This was average... Can't wait to remember this book exists again next month.
Okay Luis and Lemire need to stop watching looney tunes and fantastic four before writing their issues. Issue is ok, it’s not really making me want to read more unfortunately. The characters don’t feel the same anymore. If it wasn’t for the art, would have been a screw You two
