The Moonstone family team up against Albany and her assassin, The Venetian. Can Gabriel overcome the death of his child and save humanity from the forces of darkness? A war is waged between the last members of The Magic Order and the powers of evil that want them destroyed.
A shockingly good fifth installment with a twist and reveal worthy of the greatest stage magicians makes this the best issue yet from a story point of view as Millar leaves us with a cliffhanger going into the final issue. This issue twisted my guts inside out! Pure magic! Read Full Review
The odds are against the siblings and Millar teases that someone has been working against the family all along. Betrayal is a hallmark of mob movies and Millar makes sure that has a major impact this issue. This series has hardly been predictable and Millar keeps delivering big moments each issue. With the shocking cliffhanger here the wait for the next installment is going to seem excruciating. Read Full Review

Overall,The Magic Order#5 is a riveting tale of betrayal, deception, lies, and subverted expectations. Millar delivers a stunning plot twist that proves any magician whose worth his magic always has a trick up his sleeve. The Magic Order#5 is a thrilling read with a jaw-dropping turn that will leave you slumped in your chair and a conclusion that will have you frantically waiting for issue #6 to drop. The thing that I loved most about this issue is that it puts Millars ability to leave a reader at the edge of their seat in full effect and I cannot wait for the next issue to drop. The Magic Ordercontinues to be one of the best comic series of 2018 and an absolute pleasure to read. Read Full Review
He isn't scared to let a girl defy the odds and combat evil, but after this issue my G?! She's going to have to show a hell of a lot more tenacity if she wants to defeat Albany and the man behind The Venetian mask. Olivier Coipel's art continues to burst from the page. Bright panels are vibrant, dark panels are harrowing, and it all flows so beautifully. The Magic Order is hitting all the right notes at the perfect time, and the final issue can't come soon enough! The Magic Order #5 has a shocking ending that drastically changes the course of this story. I wont give it away, but, simply put, if you enjoyed Harry Potter, you MUST be reading The Magic Order as it heads toward its finale. Read Full Review
Joe Golem is mostly what you'd expect from a Mike Mignola comic: occult and noir themes, seedy detectives, zombies, villains in gas masks, and of course a touch of Lovecraftian horror. Read Full Review
I felt underwhelmed with Millar's pick for the villain. It's ground that has been tread over and over again in many stories. Read Full Review
Love this series!
Oh dayam! What a trecherous twist. Awesome issue.
I’m really very mad about all of this, they killed my best boy and I’m never going to be over it. If Cordelia dies we riot.
Magic Order #5 is painfully on-the-nose with its dialog, development, and twists.
But what else were you expecting from Mark Millar? This is R-rated Harry Potter.
It's bloody awesome.
