AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #17 proves that "Hunted" is a story no Spider-Man fan should miss. The build up was perfect, and now the arc itself looks to make good on all that hype. Nick Spencer delivers his most gripping Spidey tale yet, while Ramos, Delgado, and Olazaba pull you in with their pitch-perfect pages. Read Full Review
A great start to an supposedly unassuming event for our favorite web-slinger Read Full Review
Humberto Ramos does some truly magnificent art in this issue with some dramatic camera angles in the panels as well as beautiful details. A great looking issue with an engaging story. Read Full Review
brilliantly colored and created a painfully intense fight scene. I wasn't, and I'm still not blown away by the Hunted plot but in this issue, I was blown away by the structure of the opening three scenes. It began with Kraven, then Spider-Man, and finally Blackcat. They all had their respective introspections tied into the situation at hand. That artistic choice really impressed me and alongside Ramos' art made this a comic to remember. Read Full Review

Amazing Spider-Man #17 was a great start to this "The Hunted" storyline and really just a fantastic read. Spencer does a superb job with not only the story and plot, but all the characters involved. The art team does a fantastic job as well, delivering some stand out pages. There are a lot of issues coming out for this storyline (it has a checklist) coming out bi-weekly so the artist will change, but if we keep switching between Ramos and Ottley then we are in for a heck of a ride! Amazing Spider-Man #17 was a strong start to the "Hunted" story arc. Nick Spencer properly built up the hunt that Kraven the Hunter has set up for Spider-Man, Black Cat and others to be extremely dangerous. Having Humberto Ramos on board helped add to how big this story felt. Hopefully every chapter that follows can continue the momentum created by Amazing Spider-Man #17. If they can "Hunted" could very well go down as one of the best modern Spider-Man stories. Read Full Review
"Hunted" gets off to a high-stakes, slam-bang start that manages to keep itself rooted in the characterization of its protagonist, Kraven. And despite his inherent limitations as a normal (i.e. non-superpowered) man going up against a superhero, Kraven proves why he has endured as a first-class Spider-Man villain for over 50 years. Two issues in and this mini-event has gone just as one would predict. Read Full Review
Overall I find the Hunted to be on the brink of being very interesting, but the book is struggling to find a true focus in my eyes, to make the story feel as epic as the creative team wants us to believe. Sure Kraven has his reasons but, its odd they continue to be different every single issue, moving everything we setup previously behind shifting to something new we then haven't. It's good but not something I'm rushing to recommend it to anyone just yet. Read Full Review
Effectively sets up the event while laying the groundwork for a different kind of Kraven. Read Full Review
wow I really loved that issue! fantastic story and fantastic art makes for one fantastic book
Super into this. Loved the opening homages to Kraven's Last Hunt. Directly calling back to it sets a tall order for this story, but I'm hopeful that the creative team can deliver. So far so good!
The best Ramos artwork is in this book. Great story.
I really dug the beginning of Spencer's first (sort of) big Spidey event. I find the premise to be quite a cool idea that could lead to some great character moments for both Peter and Kraven. Ramos is, as always, a great choice for ASM. Looking forward to the rest of the story.
I’m so ready for everything to get all most dangerous game up in here.
Great start of this arc, leaving you with a feeling that something serious will probably happen here.
Enjoyable clever moments from Spencer. I have to say though that the 2 previous issues(16 and 16.HU) were better but I'm still looking forward to this mini event. Ramos, Olazaba and Delgado are always a treat together!
Kraven Jr. catches Spidey, completing the menagerie and launching the grand hunt. This issue lumbers forward like an unstoppable tank, paying off past foreshadowing and delivering some solid moments. The pace might be problematic if the pieces didn't fit together so well. Also, another "only hypothetically bad" issue: Spidey's started A LOT of desperate stories in "oooh I'm too sick to be web-swinging" mode. It COULD come off as a cliche -- but it's done well here.
I had my doubts, but this is off to a pretty enjoyable start.
While the plot still seems a little corny, the action and writing is extremely well done and actually makes me care. Ramos actually kills here as well.
It's interesting and different. Too early to say it's awesome, but it's not bad.
Decent set up for the arc. Definitely interested to see where this is going.
