Mark Bagley delivers some fantastic art throughout this issue. From the characters to the action, everything looks amazing. This is an intensely emotional issue and that is brought through in the facial expressions of the characters. Norman's desperation is powerful and even with masks on, Peter and Gwen's emotions are beautifully expressed. Read Full Review

Amazing Spider-Man #57 doesn't waste pages teasing new and unrelated stories. This time, we have an issue that keeps its focus on the "finale" of Last Remains. Action takes a backseat in favor of drama while giving us…answers? Well…The last remains of Last Remains wrap up in a way that may not satisfy some readers. Read Full Review

    But Why Tho? - CJ

    Jan 13, 2021

Amazing Spider-Man #57 feels a little overpacked with plot points, though it contains a highly emotional confrontation between Spidey and Norman Osborn. Next issue has promised to start the next era of Spencer's run on the series, and I hope it keeps its focus on a singular plot/character. Read Full Review

Comic Book Revolution - Kevin Lainez

    Jan 15, 2021

Amazing Spider-Man #57 concludes the 'Last Remains' as an example of how much of a mixed bag this storyline was. When it comes to how this story challenged Peter Parker we see how 'Last Remains' shines. The problem is that there are so many other things about this story that either worked or fell flat. Not having consistency with everything that Nick Spencer had in play created an uneven reading experience when all was said and done with 'Last Remains.' Read Full Review

This issue is like Schrödinger's Cat. Either the cat is dead or alive, and until we observe it.. It's actually still dead or alive. This week, I'm seeing more and more people who are liking these individual issues, while still complaining about the lack of answers, and are letting the lack of answers determine the issue's worth as a whole. I don't know if this is something that always existed in the comic book community, as I've certainly contributed to it myself, but I find it weird how often we as comic book fans tend to decide a story's worth by how much information it contains (ie how "important" it is), without giving enough credence to how it's written or drawn. This arc clearly had a real effect on the characters in it, that w more

I absolutely love this book! I love Nick spencer's whole run but t lately it's been fantastic! I really enjoy how he sets up stories and tells a deeper story instead of rushing things. The artwork is also fantastic and has been for the the entire spencer run

On one hand last remains just needs to move on and I understand peoples frustrations but I really enjoyed this one. Do we get answers? No, but its filled with a hell of an interaction between norman and peter and just felt emotional throughout for me. Good read. Kindred will be back again.

The intrigue certainly keeps you on the edge of your seat for the next issue in this series. I don't remember being so into the Spider books in over 20 years. It will likely be a while till we see the big showdown (#900 & #100?) I know we can count on Nick Spencer to give us some exciting tales in the mean time. I sure hope Mark Bagley stays along as well. They've made a team that will likely go down among the legends of Marvel. I'm not convinced Kindred is as captured as he seems. He'll likely escape quite easily at the moment he feels is right. And he plans on pulling his father and the Kingpin (Plus no telling how many other villains) in on the big showdown. What he has planned only he knows. That's how it stays so exciting. It's as tho more

Nobody's particularly happy to have stopped Kindred; it's obvious to all involved that the story isn't over. Lots of fear, lots of anger, particularly locked up inside Peter's head. He's nursing a full-blown case of PTSD that can and should be milked for plenty of angst in subsequent issues. I think both the words and the art in this issue are strong but not perfect. I wouldn't change a thing about the way the characters and the plot develop here, though. Outstanding.

These synopsis are really missleading and annoying to read. As for the issue, it's fine? Once you have accepted that Last Remains isn't what you tought it would be, this is not half-bad. Bagley is wonderful as always and I really liked the dialogue between Peter and Norman. Like the previous issue, these Post-Mortem issues are good as themselves and as epilogues. But since the Last Remains was such a letdown for me, these won't fix it. And yes, the teases continue still. It seems that at this rate, Round 2 between Kindred and Spidey will be in #100...

If you're still pissed off by the last issues... You won't like this. Or will you? Spencer starts teasing something new here, including Carlie Cooper in the mix. Of course there are still more questions than answers, but I'm not expecting much anymore. Also, there is a very satisfying moment that I won't spoil. All in all, a good issue.

Still aftermath still DRE I guess? Aside from what came before it, it's fine as is. It's good Spidey/Osborn dynamics with Bagley art, it's as classic as it gets. How can we decompress this story even more...oh wait I said a while ago we're going another 50 issues before we get any real resolution and It looks like that was a good guess. Now let's hope at issue 100 we actually fix OMD and not just do another 100 issues teasing this crap.
