Cable and Esme try to trick the Knights of Galador on their way to X of Swords! Read Full Review
There is a lot of comic to enjoy in Cable #4, ranging from wrapping up the Spaceknights to teasing time travel tricks to romantic relationships flourishing and family life too. Cable is a series that's very good at honing in on great characters who are thrust into uncomfortable circumstances. Read Full Review
CABLE #4, as well as the entire series, continues to be clear, easy to follow, and unique from anything else on the market. However, this issue was a bit flat compared to others within the series. Nonetheless, as average as CABLE #4 was this week, its still an outstanding series overall, a solid read, and an excellent x-title. Read Full Review
Even if you're not a fan of the X-Men or Cable specifically, this book is a must read. Read Full Review
A fun comic which primes "Cable" for its 'X of Swords' involvement. Read Full Review
Overall this series flounders where so many of the others shine. Not even Phil Noto’s outstanding art saves this book for me. Will the event help or hinder this series? We can only wait and see. Read Full Review
Okay, I really enjoyed this issue! The backstory of the Knights actually made me feel for them. Nathan and Esme's relationship continues to be entertaining. Emma's death stare towards Nathan was probably the funniest moment for me. Cable #4 is a fun action-packed conclusion to an arc I believed was beginning to overstay it's welcome.
I like it and enjoyed reading it. Obviously the art from Noto helps a lot in said enjoyment. So I'm not sure I'll follow it without him. We'll see.
Art 4.5/5
Story 4/5
Yeah, I still like this.
Kid Cable and Esme solve their Spaceknight problem with a deus ex machina delivered from beyond the grave by Old Man Cable. That's pretty dumb, but this whole series is dumb and I guess I've embraced the dumbness. The prose wasn't memorable, but I liked the pace and the characterization. On the art: There are two distinct Phil Noto styles. I might be in the minority, but I prefer this one -- with hard outlines and strong colors -- to the softer, more pastel alternative.
The domestic stuff is my favourite part every time.
It's fun and I like it.
God.....Some works here but most doesn't. The art was noticeably rushed and didn't feel like Noto half the time. The Ancient Knights were a snooze to kill and pretty stupid. I cant imagine writing that as the finale and being happy with it. Duggans standards are low...I think the family moments of Cable And Cyclops was somehow the highlight of this issue for me.
Well, that resolution of the Space Knights was gross. Just kill the last survivors of a people for no reason.
Only reason i'm giving this passing grades is the art.
The writing here is bad, but I really liked the art. Noto is so good.
The writing for Cable continue to be dumb and awful.
They could have scrapped all four issues into one and still would be boring. Spoilers ahead............
The plot for Spaceknight was so disappointing, and the Order of X out there kidnapping mutant's children will have to wait til the crossover is over, so what's the point? Noto's art still good, but even him can't save this book.
