EYE OF THE STORM!
As the preparations for the Hellfire Gala come to a head, Ororo's eyes are pointed to the future, a future that takes her off the seas and over the horizon.
Rated T+
Marauders takes a moment to pause between the previous action stories and the big Hellfire Gala event on the horizon for a more contained character-focus heavy issue. Gorgeous detailed artwork gives all the main characters a chance to shine and get their closeup in this issue while the colors make sure to keep up the light & dark duality of this series. Character moments are truly where this book flourishes and hopefully there will be far more room for those moments as the book rolls onward. Read Full Review
This is a nice one-shot story that focuses on the many exploits of Storm and how her teammates on the Marauders perceive her. She's a warrior, a leader, a surgeon, and a fighter and she's a sum of all those parts. What makes this comic truly exceptional is how great all the character acting is and how every reaction and expression tells another tale in itself. Marauders #20 is brimming with humanity through storytelling. Read Full Review
This issue promises that there is much more to come from Storm. I highly recommend picking up Marauders #20. This is a Storm centric issue. It is"it is a heartwarming comedy that reminds us why Storm was once worshipped as a goddess. Read Full Review
This is not necessary reading in the traditional sense, but for Marauders fans, it is the epitome of what you love about the series, so to you I say yes, it is quite necessary indeed. Read Full Review
Exquisite art elevates what could otherwise be described as an ocean-bound flashback episode. Read Full Review
Overall this was a fun book that looks back and says goodbye to one of its members. It's not groundbreaking, but it does have some touching moments. Read Full Review
Entertaining enough issue that lacks any real bite because it's mostly flashbacks to what this series should have been all along. I'm still disappointed we didn't actually get an X-Pirates comic. Read Full Review
The Storm tribute issue. Well-deserved. And written by Duggan, no less. Versatile. Get this man on the next Crossover or Black Hammer Visions, something at Dark Horse! And I could have swore Storm had 10 knives. So cool to see her flex her power in so many ways. Kenyan women are something else, even Emma Frost and Calisto had to bow, and those women are nothing to sneeze at !

A celebration of storm is a celebration I am all about! I love storm she is one of my all-time favorites and I am extremely interested in what is coming for her. The art is great In this issue as well especially the cover I absolutely love it! I am also very excited for the gala there so many great things to look forward to in the wonderful world of the mutants.
A nice tribute to the Goddess. Marauders #20 marks the end to an era for this seafaring mutant crew as they toast to Ororo's future endeavors on the eve of the Hellfire Gala.
It's the bottle episode of the series and a send off to one of our fellow Marauders. Definitely paying respect to the character that has to set sail on to another adventure and having fun telling tales about their many feats of adventure. It does a good job of making it feel like the end of an era and a beginning of a new one. The art is also very good at facial expressions and full of personality that adds to this very character driven story. Alas, it's full sail to The Hellfire Gala next, count me aboard for the next tale.
Storm's farewell dinner with the Marauders is a dense show, filled with cool anecdotes and friendly betting about how many knives she has on her. "Storm is awesome" is always a message worth sharing, but this issue feels too "tell-y" and not "show-y" enough. It all kind of unravels at the end, with Storm's final goodbye and the light foreshadowing about upcoming plot points falling flat. Solid art, some good dialogue, and healthy character respect all make this a good (if far from flawless) read.
I'm not as sure about this series as I once was. It just feels super directionless lately, but maybe that's because of the upcoming Hellfire Gala. Regardless, this is a competently written issue about how cool Storm is. It's pretty good.

Yes, I also think Storm is pretty cool.
