Yang and Ruan continue re-introducing Shang Chi to the rest of the Marvel Universe, as he continues to try to reform the Five Deadly Weapons into a force for good. Gene Luen Yang continues to have a lot of fun by having Shang-Chi and his family meet up with other members of the Marvel Universe. Only this time out it is kind of family meeting family. As Shang-Chi's Five Weapons Society meets up with Marvel's first family. The Fantastic Four. We get a nice handoff and connection to the next issue at the close where Reed Richards places a call to Captain America. So, next month Shang-Chi will seemingly meet Iron Man as a result of this phone call. I look forward to seeing how all that pans out. Read Full Review
Dike Ruan delivers some blistering and beautiful action throughout this issue. The art is brilliantly detailed and eye catching on every page. Read Full Review

Check this out, Shang Chi #4 by Gene Luen Yang is NOT bad at all. Even though there is a bucket load of history that comes from Shang-Chi, we are at the perfect spot to dive into his mythos. Several months ago, I reviewed my first Shang-Chi issue and did a soft dive into his comics. For the most part, he had multiple teams ups but where he excels at, is his solo work. Work such as this where he is the main character and not playing the background role. I would 100% recommend reading this issue. Read Full Review

Shang-Chi #4 further advances Shang-Chi's personal story while throwing another major Marvel staple against him. The Fantastic Four family must face Shang-Chi and his family and it's yet another exciting chapter in a series that can be devoured by casual readers and Shang-Chi fans alike. After loving the film, it's clear at this point Yang is doing a great job making Shang-Chi more accessible. Read Full Review

Reviewing the fourth issue of the latest Shang-Chi series from Marvel. I genuinely like this story, which makes it even more frustrating that the movie was such a bore.

It was pretty good. All the issues so far have been 1 shot types but, they are entertaining if nothing else. The art is also very solid and a highlight of the book.
Shang-Chi and his family rescue another relative, this time from the Negative Zone, resulting in a brief Fantastic Four fight. It's fast-paced (in a good way) and well-drawn, and I like the comic relief Sister Dagger is throwing down. This title has already got a formula going, though, and this installment follows it a bit too closely.
This is an okay series. It's not yet hitting that point where I can say I truly enjoy it.
Can we stop calling this a "VS" series? Shang just interacts with all these heroes, he doesn't actually fight them. I read issue one because I thought it would promise spider-man vs Shang-chi but it doesn't. So I stopped reading & pick this issue up & guess what? He doesn't actually interact with the Fantastic four nor fight them. They make small, unnecessary appearances. Yes this is leading to a big climax but as of right now, it's not keeping my attention.
