If you haven't been reading Thor, I'd recommend not only picking up this issue, but grabbing the last two from the back issue shelves of your comic book shop. You'll appreciate the great work. Read Full Review
A fantastic issue with lot's of action, clever ideas, and impressive art Read Full Review
This book is top of the line mythical storytelling. The best part about this is that it's this epic and still only a stopgap leading to an even bigger threat on the horizon. Read Full Review
This issues bristles with energy as it chronicles the long-awaited clash between Asgard and the Imperial Guard. Rarely has Russell Dauterman's art looked so epic or featured such a massive sense of scale. Read Full Review

Mighty Thor might be off in its own little cosmic corner of the Marvel Universe, but it's definitely one of the most bombastic books on the stands. Read Full Review
This arc is the best of the series so far. It's the first time that Jane Foster faces the fact that Thor is a God and her opposition to the Shi'ar Gods is brilliant and thoughtful. Also, the energy of this issue is just insane. So much ideas, so much action, so much colors! This kind of comic-book reminds me why I like this art form so much.
Man I love how the twist in the middle of the arc makes this story so gratifying. And just the fact you actually see Thor in Goddess mode is awesome. Aaron is one a great arc and Dauterman and Wilson are joining in with their art and color.
This epic battle continues, with Jane Thor truly distinguishing herself from the petty, vain Shi'ar gods. Great art by Dauterman here, a fun story that's really bringing the action.
Hard to give this issue a bad score when Jane is written perfectly and the art is amazing, but not as good storytelling as I’m used to with this series
The Shi'ar sideshow becomes entertaining as the rest of Asgard weighs in behind Thor. A flashback scene shows that, duh, the Shi'ar gods *just happened* to pick a bone with Thor because Loki stirred them up. It's a classic distraction maneuver, and it's worked quite well so far. Has Thor pushed the bird-gods too far when they call down The Ultimate Judgement? This issue has done a great deal to restore my faith in Jason Aaron's long-term plotting. Russell Dauterman's art is especially delicious when he gets to draw boats full of Asgardians in all-out war mode.
Lots of flash - in a good way. The Challenge of the Gods is still bewildering bothersome bamboozlement. Not sure what to expect of Loki's endgame now that he's not the spotlight protagonist with organic development that was previously so appreciated. Overall a good installment and hopefully this Shi'ar/Asgardian War plays out well, with wise payoff around the mystery of Mjolnir.
There is an important detail here that brings the story into the larger scope of the series so it is not as much of a random distraction from where the previous arc was heading.
