Gender-bending? Edit: Nevermind, I got it.
Backed into an impossible corner, Jessica is forced to make a sacrifice play that could cost her a member of her own family. Guest-starring JESSICA JONES?

THE VARIANTS #3 has everything you could want in a superhero tale: quiet moments, bombastic fare, and nimble characterization, all worthy of one of the Marvel Universe's most complex and compelling characters. Read Full Review
The Variants is easily the best Marvel book on stands right now trust me. Read Full Review
The strange multiplicity of the recent Loki series on Disney+ was fun. A god of mischief feels a hell of a lot more at home hanging out with a bunch of himselves. One would expect him to show up with a whole bunch of copies. (Hes done that before in the comics just for the sake of confusion.) Jessica Jones makes for an interesting study in a world of parallel timelines and multiple variants. Simone has identified a really cool mutation of a similar premise that dives into the nature of Jesss life in a way that makes for a deeply engaging story. Read Full Review
This issue brilliantly brings the various variants into sharper focus, defining them individually by bouncing them off the central version of Jessica whose world they find themselves in. The excellent script is supported by subtle yet deeply expressive art that gets the subtlety of what's been explored between the characters as well as their defined differences. Read Full Review
Noto delivers some beautifully detailed art on every page. The emphasis on character allows for the art style to be visually engaging and the action is as thrilling as the human drama. Read Full Review

Noto and Simone definitely deliver a rollercoaster of emotions in the issue as each punch is thrown and each tragedy revealed. The Variants #3 is another fantastic issue that has us screaming to know what happens next. It's a fantastic series that takes the rather overused multiverse concept and give us something new, a solid mystery. Read Full Review
So good. Yes, it retreads much of past stories, but not completely and does it so well.
I created this account just to write this review. I usually don't care about giving reviews but this time I felt the need to cause I love Jessica Jones, it's my favorite marvel character and I feel like this book is paying a beautiful homage to her and the lore while being an interesting story.
The plot's a little more cryptic than it needs to be, and the variants are rather thinly characterized.
*Good God*, it's well-crafted, though! If we don't delve deep into the variants, we *do* plunge ocean-deep into Jess-Prime. The cross-cut scene structure is flawless, and the art's gorgeous from start to finish. This might not wind up being the best Jessica Jones story ever, but it'll be a strong contender for "best-told".
Did we really need 3 issues to get here. A lot of forced moves to make the mystery last this long. I just can't get over the trope of characters fighting first for 2 issues and disappearing at convenient times only to reappear when it's time for exposition and explanations to happen. Yeah the reveals are not working for me. This comic move is done to death in comics. This will depend on what the 4th issue does so the rating could change if Gail Simone lands a proper one. I hope I got it wrong so we'll see. The interplay between characters is fine and Noto is great as usual even when he messes up figures sometimes.
This is the issue of non-stop conversations and gender-bending Jessica. It's feeling like an episode of Orphan Black in the 5th season. I don't feel like the story is going anywhere. Come on Gail. Get it going already.
