• FOR WEEKS, chaos engulfed Earth and space alike. First, the corpse of serial killer Cletus Kasady was bonded to a remnant of a mysteriously powerful alien symbiote, resurrecting his psychotic alter ego, Carnage.
• THEN, the generations-long Kree/Skrull conflict reached a brutal head on Earth, with shocking and unforeseen consequences.
• MEANWHILE one ancient entity at the edge of the universe has awoken. Born of hate and darkness, it's the entity that feeds on chaos and brutality-and one group more
Web of Venom Empyres End may be one of the scariest stories youve ever read. The script and imagery work so well together. Clay Mcleod Chapman is on my radar now. He has an eye and ear for good scary stories. If youre not ready for Halloween to be over, check out Web of Venom Empyres End. Read Full Review
While not essential reading for either event that the title suggests it bridges, this is exactly what a great tie-in issue should do. An entertaining story that builds excitement for the upcoming event, it doesn’t feel like a tie-in for the sake of it. Not essential reading by any means, but readers who decide to skip over it will definitely be missing out. Chapman continues to bring horror to his symbiote stories and this is a great preview for Knulls arrival to Earth. Read Full Review
Web of Venom: Empyre's Endis a good connecting story betweenEmpyreandKing in Back, but it's an even better space horror. If you have any doubt how dangerous Symbiotes are, simply pick up this comic and see Earth and its heroes are in big trouble. Read Full Review
I was already excited for Knull's arrival in King in Black, but one-shots like this and Wraith further heighten that anticipation. If this is what Knull can do to the space-faring characters, what will he do to Earth's Mightiest Heroes? I cannot wait to find out. Read Full Review
The subject matter's matched with some equally grim and despondent imagery that's straight out of a horror flick and leaves no question about how grim a situation the crew and everyone else is in. Read Full Review
Guiu and Chapman combine their talents to craft a tension filled terror of a on-shot, leaving behind the events of Empyre to herald the Coming of Knull. Read Full Review
Symbiotes on the page can take any shape and configuration. Limiting them to more familiar appearances robs some of the horror of the remainder of the book. The book ends as it must, with the death of many of our heroes, few survivors and the revelation that Knull and the Symbiote army have arrived. Read Full Review
My 11yo son read this and loved every page. I can't ask for much more than that.

Usually I hate these overpriced one-shot tie-ins. I had low expectations for this book, and mostly bought it to keep my Cates Venom collection complete. However my low expectations were blown away. This issue had great horror elements, while still feeling very much in the Marvel universe. It was both a great one-shot and lead in to 'the King in Black'.
A basic horror story in space. With symbiotes. That is done very well.
I don't think of Clay McLeod Chapman as the most technically proficient writers, but he really is good at 70s/80s horror movie comics, and that's essentially what this is. I enjoyed it.
It was not needed for any plot development in the knull story but it was very entertaining.
Strong Alien vibes. I'd watch it as a movie.
I thought it was okay, unfortunately it was pretty thin story for me.
This was okay but I think I would have liked it more if I knew the characters a bit.
Welcome to the dissenting opinion, I guess. This was thoroughly dull to me. The art was decent but not noteworthy. The script tries to make a daring meal out of a very safe mouthful. It was slow, cliched, and it utterly failed to get me interested in any of its recycled d-list aliens.
