I am incredibly excited for this series. Corben is one of my favourite artists and he seems to be pulling in his Lovecraft and Poe influences for this one. It could end up being one of his best works. |

The characterization are spot on and the use of the force is well done as well. I was worried the comic book might go super insane with the jedi powers like the prequel movies did. Fortunately Aaron approaches it in a more subtle way like in the original 3 movies. I also loved that Solo is still in denial about the force and tries to explain away Vader's powers. |

Feb 11, 2015 |
Reeks a little too of the prequels. Oh, how I hate the word "senate". I suppose this was predictale as Vader is one of the few characters that was directly engaged in the events of the prequel movies. I liked Vader's dealing with the Hut and the bounty hunters but honestly there's absolutely nothing new here that a person watching the films already have assumed. There was a small tie in to the main Star Wars comics by Aaron. |

Feb 11, 2015 |
Another bore in this soap opera side-story of B.P.R.D. Not sure where this is going. The whole issue was Abe talking to a young girl. It was nice to see a young person's perspective of the monster fallout but it not something we haven't seen in almost every post-apocalypse tale. The issue ends on a shameless monsters-in-the-background-coming-to-get-the-main-characters-without-them-knowing cliffhanger. |

The start of a fine, if familiar, story about a robin hood type thief framed for murder by a leader of the local mafia-style gang. I thought the art was especially rough and thrown together. It looks like the storyboard and Sakai didn't have enough time to tighten it up before inking. |

Roy Thomas really loves fantasy stories with mysterious towers in them. I found these stories petty bland and forgettable. It's nothing we haven't all read a thousand times before and if I am to re-read this book in a few weeks from now, I'm sure I'll have forgotten all of them. None of the stories are connected, they're just little shorts that I guess can be seen as character explorations. But we don't learn anything new about Sonja. I'd rather read Gail Simone's ongoing series than these stories. |

For some reason I thought this was the issue that Brian Wood was going to start writing. Not only is this not written by Wood but apparently he has been booted off the title completely. This was written by McFarlane and it shows. I knew by the first gigantic speech bubble that this was not Wood. My God McFarlane loves long, wordy dialogue interludes. It was a tough read. This was the first issue I had read since I read the first 20 issues a few years ago... so I was lost. The book wraps up a previous story line and then introduces the old Spawn back into the narrative. |

I'm wondering what everyone else is reading that this comic is so highly rated here. The book is an encyclopedia of different DC universes. The framing device used in nonsensical. The different versions of the justice league are silly and uninspired. The only good thing is the professional quality artwork. |

This might just be the worst comic I've ever read. The art is fine, totally professional. But the story... the characters... what the hell? Its so incredibly juvenile. Two d-bags hop through time. Its Bill and Ted sans humour. |
