Absolutely fantastic debut tat sucked me into the world and made me care about the protagonist. Really excited to see where this goes.

There’s nothing bad, but there’s nothing that makes it good either. What should have been an exciting start to the first new run on the title since Rebirth started is just another mediocre Batman comic.

Batman: Creature of the Night #4

It may have been a long wait, but it was absolutely worth it. Batman: Creature Of The Night may not be about actual Batman, but it’s a tale all fans of the Dark Knight should read. Possibly my favourite Batman comic of the 21st century.

The art is a bit iffy in a couple of places, but overall there’s a fantastic dreary gothic atmosphere that embraces the grotesque ness of life and death. Loving this already.

As a series, Wyrd has been frustratingly average. It’s had a lot of potential to be something great but just can’t quite make it. Issue #4 however made for a nice surprise and is the stand-out issue of the whole series. I’m honestly glad I read it as I nearly skipped it based on the previous issues. I won’t say anything else as I don’t want to spoil it, but this issue is worth reading alone. (Also features an alternate take on what Superman could have been, which is always fun)
