Since I'm a big fan of Geoff Johns, I've been loving this title since the New 52 came into being, so I'm happy that the stories have been as entertaining as ever. Artwise, the book looked great. Mahnke did a great job of handling all the character work and the action sequences looked fantastic, I really like the scene with Batman and Power Ring the dialogue was meaningful but the art made the scene powerful as Mahnke is a master at drawing emotion. Unfortunately, this issue doesn't do so well by the Doom Patrol. On the whole, Forever Evil and this arc have served as a solid reintroduction for the team. But the characters practically drop out of the story before the end of this issue, leaving sense of anticlimax and disappointment. Hopefully there are brighter days ahead for these troubled heroes. The characterization is excellent– you can practically feel the sliminess in Luthor's voice– and the Doom Patrol make a unique and intriguing addition to the New 52. All in all, a really solid issue. Justice League has been at a high point since the conclusion of Forever Evil, and Geoff Johns doesn't seem to be letting up now that the series has finally picked up some steam. Complaints about the Doom Patrol aside, this is a very enjoyable issue, and seems to be a good preview of things to come with the Lex Luthor/Justice League dynamic. Justice League #33 is a good issue, but not as great as previous ones. The lack of focus on most of the team here is very disappointing, along with a lack of Doom Patrol action. There are still pluses here, like the climax of the issue and the writing in general, so this isn't a bad issue like some may say. The Justice League is going through some changes. Too often team books continue down the same path and can end up feeling a little stagnant. Geoff Johns is shaking things up and having Lex Luthor around is like dropping a live grenade into the mix. While most of the issue focuses on the fighting between the Justice League and Doom Patrol, we get to see more developments for the future of this title. Doug Mahnke is tasked with drawing a huge amount of characters. Andrew Dalhouse's colors are fantastic. Things are changing for the Justice League and you won't want to miss what's developing. Yes, some of the problems inherent in Justice League still remain - the world's greatest heroes still feel like window dressing in their own team book, likely because their own solo titles still feel like they're in flux. The main draw of Justice League - watching DC's best and brightest interact - isn't really here yet. We're four chapters into Geoff Johns' Injustice League storyline, and it's still a bit unnerving to see Lex Luthor fighting alongside the Justice League. That's the surreal gimmick behind this post-Forever Evil saga: bad guys making good. And while Luthor's fellow reformer Captain Cold is sitting this issue out, Johns is charging along with this intriguing tale of how and why the League would EVER allow someone as irredeemable as Lex Luthor to sit in the hallowed halls of the Watchtower. "Justice League" #33 continues to help the title feel like it's on a good path, post-"Forever Evil." With the changes to the team, there's a lot of promise for what's in store. I'd like to see a few less storylines per issue down the line (if only to keep from feeling like some of the stories are getting short-changed like we had here), but overall, a nice installment. I started this issue out all hyped to see the fate of Jessica Cruz and The New Doom Patrol, but by the end it just felt like a way to tell Luthor to suck it. Not much going on here, even though it finishes up the current plot line and gives us a new dimension to the Justice League stories. Mahnke's art this month didn't seem up to par with what he's been giving us and on top of the flat story, it just led to an uninteresting issue. Read Full Review

Heh, Batman can make anyone feel safer. This issue is fun, it kind of contradicts itself in a way at the end, but that's not a huge problem. I'm just happy to read a Justice League that isn't interrupted by another event.
