The Nice House on The Lake #4 changes the ballgame for the characters involved and deepens the horror that binds them together. It makes a great argument for why some comics do justify a monthly schedule. Sheesh, that ending. This series just keeps getting better and better.
This series is amazing! This issue makes no exeption!
The Nice House on The Lake has to be the most compelling comic book out this year for me. I mean no hyperbole when I say that narratively, it is near perfect. The dialogue that takes place from page to page is just so captivating. Seeing all of the characters dealing with and still processing the nightmare they find themselves in is tough.
As I’ve been reading The Nice House on The Lake, and especially this issue, a feeling of dread comes over me and it lingers afterwards. I think that’s an incredibly important component of what horror comics and movies should aim to achieve.
Alvaro Martinez Bueno continues to excel on art duty. His ability to convey the many different emotions our characters go through is impres more
Solid issue, focusing on another character. Really liked the tone on this one, I think this is the most human apocalypse story I've read. It just makes sense, all their actions feel natural, real good work on Tynion. Martinez's art is mesmerazing once again, is just weird and that fits the bill.
I'm still intrigued by all the mistery around the house grounds and those crazy orange colored openings are just full of questions, what does it mean? Is that the future? Why is it narrated in first person by every character like that?
I guess comedians really do see the world differently, like they point out the absurdities of their situation. That's what David does anyway as genuine comic relief. He's not just some jokester, he wants to connect to people through a sense of understanding. In fact, it's what allows him to figure out what one character's going through better than others, including her roommate.
It's also another layer to how the host arranges the way everybody. He gathered everybody at the house for a purpose and David was selected because he would be the one to tell the others what's actually going on. Sometimes laughter isn't really the best medicine, it's just another pill.
REALLY good! Well done
This series is top notch every issue. Its really, really freaking good
Another hit. Not as revealing as the other issues but still just a great installment.
Unpopular opinion: This is better than Tynion's Batman. Even with the exposition its actually bearable and great.
Another fantastic issue. The way Tynion consistently interwove comedy and tragedy through the lens of David was brilliant and the final turn at the end of the issue was super well done. The characters individual personalities are starting to be fleshed out more and the general sense of paranoia that Martinez's art lends is wonderful.
I'm getting a bit bored of this. I read a lot of Tynion's work, so maybe it's just overload from that. I was also very tired when I read this. I just don't have a lot of patience for Tynion's tropes right now.
