• "LAST REMAINS" is so huge it cannot be contained within the pages of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN.
•  Kindred's assault is so epic, it's going to sweep the other Spider-Heroes of the Marvel Universe up in its wake.
•  All this and the bombshell dropped at the end of ASM #49 rolls toward one of Marvel fandom's favorite characters.

    But Why Tho? - CJ

    Oct 22, 2020

Amazing Spider-Man #50.LR significantly raises the stakes of the "Last Remains" storyline, putting Peter Parker's allies in danger and hinting at a partnership with his deadliest enemy. The best Spider-Man stories are usually the ones where he beats impossible odds, and right now it looks like the deck is stacked against the friendly neighborhood web-slinger. Read Full Review

Federico Vicentini does an excellent job contrasting both stories artistically. Peter's story is fast and kinetic and reflected in the art. Norman's story is quieter and character driven which is reflected in the detailed characters and camera angles. Read Full Review

    AIPT - David Brooke

If you can keep the events in the timeline straight and be okay with some unearned elements in the narrative, it's a good time. It plays up the action well with slick visuals that are suited to the monsters as the subdued moody scenes with Norman to perfection. At the end of the day, there's a dark and disturbing Spider-Man story here -- you just need the patience to find it. Read Full Review

Comic Book Revolution - Kevin Lainez

    Oct 22, 2020

Outside of the final few pages Amazing Spider-Man #50.LR is nothing more than a director's cut to the first chapter of "Last Remains." The way this entire issue is executed does make you question why Nick Spencer couldn't include some of these moments in the oversized anniversary issue that was Amazing Spider-Man #50. Hopefully these tie-in comics don't create an excuse for Spencer to leave out key plot details in the main story of "Last Remains." Read Full Review

Man, I'm very much here for Sad Dad Norman. I'm still not totally convinced that Kindred is Harry, but regardless of whether he is or not, Norman's pathos regarding Harry is very fun to read for me. I can't wait to see what Norman attempts to do to save Harry, and how MJ will get involved in this. It'll probably go very poorly, but that's what makes it exciting to me. Also, I'm so glad Mary Jane is back. I guess we're all going to collectively ignore that last issue of her solo series, since COVID took it out. But that's fine, I like her more as a supporting cast member in ASM. I'm also very interested in seeing what Kindred is going to do with the Spider-Friends. Could we see him go after Kingpin, maybe? I know I'm just listing off e more

This was really good. And the story told here really makes sense why these are "side-issues". It is really refreshing to hear sin-free Norman's take on Harry and other things, especially since we know it is not an act, etc (I hope this doesn't age poorly). It really is an issue that shouldn't be skipped if you are interested in Last Remains. It is very well written and the artwork is good.

I like this. Norman's scenes are top notch, absolutely great. The rest... Yeah, not so much but these "LR" issues are not about Peter, so I'm fine.

It's good but doesn't appear to be necessary. Vicentini is pretty good!

It was a pretty good read that I wouldnt say is totally needed but definitely adds some depth. Really likes the Norman parts. The other not so much but it also had some Kindred and Spidery interaction.

Penitent Norman Osborn chews through some scenery and is desperate to help his son. Meanwhile, an expanded scene of Spidey battling the Order of the Web puts him in contact with Kindred. This isn't quite essential, but it's far from disappointing. Decent art and a nice smooth scene structure -- and just enough extra plot tidbits to make reading it feel rewarding.

I think the writing is fine. Some of the art looks a lot like Humberto Ramos lol. But I am really not a fan of the Spidey editorial team continuing this trend of creating more books like this when they can put a more condensed version in the main flagship book itself.
