Nov 11, 2018The Death of the Inhumans #5 finally strips King Blackagar completely bare, forcing him to reconcile with the true nature of what his people have become and what must be done. The creative team manages to pull together one of the best series yet featuring the Inhumans, its one that certainly shouldnt be missed! Read Full Review

Graphic Policy - Brett
Nov 07, 2018The issue is a tragic one and Cates sets the classic characters off in to a new direction and new era. What's next, who knows? But, for what I was expecting to be an eye rolling event, this is an entertaining story and one that ends on a pretty high note. The title might be a bit over the top but the story within really brings things together and gets the characters back to their roots. Here's hoping Cates is given a chance to steer these characters into the future for some time. Read Full Review

So damn good and meaningful.

This issue brings Marvel's Inhumans push to a close. It returns the Inhumans to the status quo they had before Marvel tried to make them the X-Men. And it does so in a difficult way that will certainly be felt for years to come.

Cates made the Inhumans good again. Yes, the ending is rushed and too easy, but Cates made the Royal Family compelling and dramatic again after their awful mishandling by Marvel these last few years. Vitally, Black Bolt is not all powerful anymore. Look forward to seeing them in Cates' Guardians of the Galaxy run.

This was a decent ending, but honestly...I think I would've loved to see this as an ongoing series. Cates had a really great voice for these characters and this could've been the start of something really cool. The ending was slightly anti-climactic, and it left me wanting more. Where do the Inhumans go from here? I would've loved to see Cates follow this story up with several more arcs and watch the Inhumans rebuild and recover. Oh well..for what it was, I still thoroughly enjoyed it. Not Cates' strongest work, but Cates at his weakest is still better than most writers at their best.

I really tried to like this book and stuck with it but alas it's not good. I guess writing the inhumans is a hard thing to do for recent writers and Donny Cates is no exception. Olivetti's new art style while decent, just hasn't grown on me and isn't as good as his previous work.

Series had promise, but the end shows that as usual, Marvel has no idea what to do with the Inhumans. Pretty sure we won't see them for a while - as another commenter wrote the X-Men are back so no need for the Inhumans now...

So what was the point of this series?

Because "Transporting of the Inhumans" doesn't sound as interesting. I called this from day 1.

When the twist was revealed last issue, I had hopes that this series might redeem itself, but this final issue nailed that coffin shut. Flat characterization -- none of these characters are individuals. Sloppy plotting -- how could a Vox be using Crystal or Lockjaw's powers *before* capturing them? And a sharp turn back into the wholesale slaughter the title promised (but looked like it might be off the table) -- Black Bolt didn't even seem to try to do anything but rush into fulfilling the series remit. And not a name or face to any of the dead, nothing to connect to or feel emotion for. Just "and the rest". This was miserable and I had expected more from Cates.
