This is as good as it gets in Marvel Comics. It blends the past with the present, delivering something new, and hammers home surprising twists that elevate the superhero genre. Immoral Thor is quite simply a must-read comic. Read Full Review
If there's an award to be given out for the best first page of a comic book in the year 2023 then I'd like to nominate the opening splash of Immortal Thor #4. Read Full Review
Immortal Thor #4 continues to offer readers the perfect blend of old and new. Its creators are unafraid to take Thor to new places, but never lose sight of what made himand the myths he comes fromso beloved in the first place. Read Full Review
The Immortal Thor #4 delivers an epic recruitment of the Thor Corps. While the Thor and Storm interaction dominates the issue Beta Ray Bill, Sif, and Loki get great character moments. It all combines to create the maximum amount of hype going into the battle against Toranos the Utgard-Thor. Read Full Review
Immortal Thor #4 shows the God of Thunder seek an audience with Storm and other allies while Toranos draws closer and closer to the solar system. The initial exchange between Thor and Storm goes about as well and as predictable as you'd expect, but the outcome is worth the hassle as we see what Thor's true plan to fight Toranos really is. And when the titanic elder god of thunder finally arrives, we see Thor and his allies get their game faces on which leads into their inevitable clash in the next issue. Read Full Review
Immortal Thor #4 is all setup and flash for the sake of assembling a new team (the Thor Corps), but there's no meat on this bone. The art is great, and Thor's recruitment choices make sense, but this issue amounts to little more than a prologue. Read Full Review
Thor brings together a select team of beings linked to the power of Mjolnir to form the Thor Corps, the new team of gods who will fight an immense threat.
MartIn Coccolo offers amazing sequences of detailed art, with textures that give it great dynamism and amazing splash pages. He achieves great dynamism with epic sequences, where the power of thunder stands out.
Aye!
My favorite issue of the series thus far. Thor and Storm's battle and discussion was a highlight, and the gathering of the Thors combined with the continued sheer scale and size that Coccolo gives Toranus has me very excited for the upcoming battle. Even better was the teaser at the end; I'm very glad Ewing is writing that character again and can't wait to see what he's cooking with the teased idea. Last few issues were good but slightly dragging their feet; this one feels much more eventful and I can't wait to see what comes next on multiple fronts.
Great issue to set up the Thor Corps in the next one. I was super excited about this team when I saw the cover for Issue 5 in the solicitations. I'm especially excited for Bill, as he's one of my favorite Marvel characters, if not my absolute favorite. I've been waiting for him to get some spotlight ever since Daniel Warren Johnson's fantastic miniseries with him in 2021. All things considered, I'm really looking forward to seeing this awesome team face Toranos in the next issue. Cóccolo's art made Toranos and everyone else just look great, as per usual. Plus, those last two pages were extremely interesting.
a pretty fun and entertaining issue that I genuinely enjoyed with good art and action
Might be my favorite issue so far. This did a really good job of making me care. It had great art. Some of the scenes were really well crafted.
Will Thor have a good run again one day? Because this one is already tiring.
