Unleash The Fanboy - Russell Johnson Jun 25, 2013

X-O Manowar is another solid and exciting title in the Valiant Universe. Planet Death revealed true character in Aric and completed his journey to wield and bond with Shanhara and use it to return freedom to an alien race who wanted to destroy him and his people. X-O Manowar is one of many Valiant titles that should be a must read for fans of great characters and exciting storytelling! Read Full Review

Cary Nord and colorist Moose Baumann consistently remind us why reading comics can be such as an amazing visual experience"their work in issue #14 is out of this world (you like the pun, right?). I've said it time and time again, do yourself a favor and hop on the X-O Manowar train; that is, if you like equally talented writing and artwork featured in your comics. Read Full Review

    Comicosity - Aaron Long Jun 26, 2013

The future is bright for X-O Manowar if the quality stays as high as what is found in issue #14. This is an energetic and action filled issue that rounds out what has been a strong arc in a well crafted series. The anchor of Valiant's line is definitely worth checking out as this comic holds its own with many of the Big Two superhero books on store shelves today. Read Full Review

Overall this was a pretty thrilling conclusion to a great arc. As far as buildup and execution for a sci-fi book are concerned, you would be hard pressed to find one that packs as much action into an arc as X-O Manowar. This is definitely a book worth getting, dont miss out. Read Full Review

Comic Vine - Mat 'Inferiorego' Elfring Jun 25, 2013

The end of Planet Death put a big, dumb smile on my face. This is X-O MANOWAR's first major story, and it was a memorable and extremely fun read. Venditti and Nord are doing a phenomenal job here, and what's best about this issue is while it wraps up the story, it also leaves a few things open in the future. X-O MANOWAR is a book you'd be crazy to not have on your pull list. You should literally be locked up in the nut house if you're not reading this. X-O MANOWAR is one of the few books most critics agree on. So, I'm not some crazy, bearded hermit shouting alone from the mountain tops for you to buy this book. There's lots of us up here yelling at you. You should start listening better. Read Full Review

There were three other things I really liked: I loved the Vine general turning against the Council because of seeing Aric's control of the armor first hand, I loved the Council's vindictive explanation of the true story behind Shanhara, and I liked the truth behind the arc title of "Planet Death." I always thought it was going to mean Aric was going to scorch the Earth, but it was the Vine. They were willing to kill Loam for the purpose of defeating Aric. It was really well played.
