Nothing can stop the incurable infection from turning animals and people into crazy killers. Chuck is the last man standing and he is on everyone's menu. With the conclusion just one issue away, will Chuck find salvation from the ever-growing plague?

Ferreyra does a great job illustrating Jack's nightmarish powers. When Jack enters the mind of his victim, he tortures them with their internal fears. With immense glee, Jack conjures up monsters with elongated fingers and half a mouth. These are eerie images that will definitely stick in your mind after you have finished reading. To distinguish reality from unreality, Ferreyra depicts the real world with vibrant and blossoming colors. The surreal world is drained of color, with a major focus on the grey tones.

An excellent start, “Dead Body Road” #1 is difficult to put down once you get started. I can't wait to see what happens next in the series.

An enjoyable fun read, “Dead Boy Detectives” #1 is a great introduction for newcomers to the teen sleuths. With a new cast member to keep things interesting, I can't wait to see what happens between Edwin Paine and Charles Rowland.

Highly recommended, "'Dia de los Muertos" #1 is a terrific compilation of great storytelling and engaging artwork. The decorative spirit of Day of the Dead is celebrated in these pages.

From a variety of writers and artists, each twisted tale in “Ghosts” #1 gets better and better. Each ghost story encourages the reader to keep going, never giving them a chance to put the comic down. A great step in quality and quantity, there's lots of great stuff in here.

Just in time for Halloween, "Hellboy: The Midnight Circus" is downright impossible to put down when you start reading. For those who only know about Hellboy through the Guillermo Del Toro movies, this a great way to be re-introduced to the character in the comics.

Hellraiser #20 is a satisfying conclusion that closes up a few story threads and leaves some open-ended. I became a fan after reading Christopher Monfettes eloquent and stylish dialogue in the first issue. Like many, I was caught by surprise when Pinhead defeated Kirsty and tricked her into taking his place in Hell. I kept on reading when Harry D Amour was brought into the mix. Though this is the last issue of the Hellraiser series, this is not the end of Pinhead and Kirsty Cotton. Barker still has some sights to show you, which is reason enough to be excited about The Dark Watch in 2013.

With Warren Ellis and Declan Shalvey at the helm, there was no doubt that “Moon Knight” #1 would be a quality read. This is a great way to start off the new “Moon Knight” series and I cannot wait for more.

"Road Rage" #4 is an exhilarating quick-read and a great conclusion to this four-issue miniseries. Readers should absolutely not miss out on this comic book. The miniseries satisfyingly ends with a highly memorable tale of deep isolation and genuine terror. Because this is a successful translation of Matheson's classic work, hopefully Ryall and Garres will team-up again and adapt another.

Sheltered #6 takes the series in a new and unexpected direction, which will hopefully bring in great results as the story progresses. As always with “Sheltered”, I can't wait to see what happens next.

This is one helluva way to start “Constantine” #1 and I only hope it gets better. By the end of the issue, readers will learn that you cannot completely trust Constantine. The rest of the New 52 will have trouble getting along with him, which pleases me the most.

If you are looking for horror comedy, “Creepy” #10 is a near perfect anthology issue. Each short tale is filled with lots of enjoyable campy humor and finishes off with a twisted ending. After reading a few of these shorts, you will want to re-visit H.P. Lovecraft's work, and what better time than Halloween month.

With tons of horror and wicked humor, “Creepy ” #12 has all that for readers and so much more. The “Creepy” anthology series always has such great storytellers to match with its wonderful black and white artwork.

While being quite accessible to newcomers, Criminal Macabre/30 Days of Night: Final Night #1 also establishes how the stakes are personal to longtime readers. Eben and his army of nasty vampires from "30 Days of Night" fit seamlessly into the "Criminal Macabre" world. Fans of both series are really going to enjoy watching them clash. It's a shame one of these books will be ending.

Writer Christopher Sebela delivers a fine sense of rhythm and pacing for dialogue. The zany characters are energetic with their nonstop chatter. The dark humor hits its punchline after Snake responds with a spot-on one-liner. A man of few words, Snake has the best lines in the comic, thanks to Sebela. The dialogue still feels like something Kurt Russell would say in character.

After so many bloody and twisted adventures, Cassie and Vlad reach their final destination in "Hack/Slash" #25. This is exactly the type of ending I wanted these characters to have. Having been a fan from the get go, I am definitely sad this series is ending, but the conclusion is very satisfying.

I started reading “Hellblazer” when I picked up, “Dangerous Habits.” My personal favorites of “Hellblazer” are Warren Ellis' “Haunted,” and Brian Azzarello's “Hard Time,” which is an unforgettable tale of Constantine's stint in prison. I am interested in seeing what writers Jeff Lemire, Ray Fawkes, and artist Renato Guedes will do with “Constantine” #1.

“Hellraiser” #19 is a well-balanced combination of bloody gore and epic mythology. This isn't just a completely satisfying comic for “Hellraiser” and “Lord of Illusions” film buffs, but for all horror enthusiasts in general. You definitely want to be there when Pinhead unleashes his unholy powers onto the rest of the world.

Hellraiser: The Dark Watch #2 continues in a promising direction and ends with a shocker. With Seifert's love for dialogue, Tiffany returns with a feisty attitude and this time, she always has something to say. Ending on a WTF teaser, I'm definitely interested in what's going to happen next in the third issue.

With an engaging protagonist and a smart sci-fi premise, "Alex + Ada" #1 tells a twisted romantic drama about missed chances and lost connections. With the themes established, I want to know more about Ada and how she will fit into the story.

The opening pages start out with a bang. When the mental institution is being burnt down, Ferreyra depicts the chaos as the nurses are running around and screaming for their lives. In the midst of the destruction, some of the mental patients are actually enjoying the fire. In the second half of the story, Tobin has to go through a lot of exposition. Through medium and wide shots, Ferreyra keeps the panels engaging as the police officer and Declan's nurse are having a regular conversation. Always active, these characters are constantly moving around in a single location. It is quite impressive how Ferreyra can make these day-to-day situations look interesting, even though there is no scare or action taking place.

If you were a fan of the original “Cyber Force,” definitely pick this issue up. While it is overly modernized in parts, it does justice to the original series. Also the first five issue is free, so there is absolutely no reason why you shouldn't give this comic a look.

Campiness at its best, “Mars Attacks: The Holidays” benefits from its zany and hilarious spoof of 1950′s flying saucer movies. These creative teams of writers and artists sure know how to have fun with their oddball ideas. As the Martians invade each month of the holiday season, there is plenty about each tale to enjoy.

Though I wish the issue could have lasted longer (it's only 10 pages), “Memorial: Imaginary Fiends” #1 sets up an endearing tale about children and their imagination. The final page also ties in rather nicely with Roberson's original “Memorial” series from 2012. This is about recapturing a forgotten moment in youth, which feels real to a child but fake to an adult.

A sci-fi murder mystery, “Resident Alien: The Suicide Blonde” #1 engages its readers with a supporting cast of quirky characters and a weird-looking protagonist. Geared for newcomers, this installment is a quick introduction to the inhabitants of Patience, USA.

For those looking for dazzling art and an interesting psychological drama, then definitely pick up “Sex #1.” Readers will have to wait and see if the “Sex” series is something more than a catchy title.

At its best, "Thief of Thieves" keeps its readers guessing because of its unconventional storytelling and stylized artwork. Readers will definitely be glued to the pages as the grand crime caper slowly reveals itself.

With its premise established, Vampirella: Southern Gothic #1 sets off the vampire seductress with a new look and a different setting. I'm looking forward to seeing this vampire in the American South landscape.

"B.P.R.D.: Hell On Earth: The Transformation of J.H. O' Donnell" is a tragic tale about the obsessive quest for the ultimate knowledge. In one of his previous missions, Hellboy and Professor O'Donnell entered the secret library of a fallen necromancer. Upon opening the necromancer's books, O'Donnell saw something he truly wished he didn't. Now readers will find out what his eyes exactly witnessed in this supernatural adventure.

Sharply written and provocatively drawn from start to finish, "Crossed Badlands" #6 follows the traumatizing journey of a small group living in the apocalypse. These survivors are struggling to come to terms with the harsh reality of the ever-spreading Crossed plague. They will do what has to be done in order to live for another day.

"Deadpool" #55 is the beginning of a different life for Wade Wilson. Now that Wade has his boyish looks back, his newfound face is something worth adjusting to. Reality comes crashing in when Wade suddenly realizes he lost his vitally important healing factor. Can Deadpool still win against a group of genius super-villains, especially when he clearly lost the upper hand?

"Grim Leaper" #1 is a different kind of romantic comedy where people end up being decapitated. Lou Collins hasn't made the most out of life, even after cheating death thirteen times. Lou has no intention of living a meaningful life until he meets Ella. Now that he has a reason to stay alive, death is always lurking around the corner. Kicking off to a great start, eager readers should not miss out on this four-part miniseries. You definitely want to stick around for Wiebe's great writing, and Santos' colorful artwork in "Grim Leaper."

“Terminator Salvation: The Final Battle ” #1 doesn't add anything new to the franchise but at least tries to be a fun read. It's a decent start but this will mostly please the Terminator fans and make you yearn for James Cameron's installments.
