The new status of the DC Universe has been established. Questions are answered and at the same time, others are raised. Darkseid was an interesting choice as the first big villain for the heroes to face as they gathered together to form the Justice League. His threat level has been raised and his reasons for being on Earth plants the seeds for what's to come. Because we have Johns and Lee, we expect some big moments and they deliver. There are some really great moments with each member showcasing their individual talents that will remind you how much potential they all have as a team. The back-up story was a welcome and long awaited treat. Those seven pages made a great issue even better. If this is just the opening act for the Justice League, I can't wait to see what Johns and Lee have planned for us next. Read Full Review

Pick up this issue. It was a great ending to this story arc. I thought this issue was a great beginning for the series and the team. The battle with Darkseid was also great and should not be missed. If you are not reading this series this is a perfect place to start reading. Read Full Review

Justice League isn't quite the book I want it to be -- one that mixes the bombastic superheroics with deep characterization (this coming from a guy who actually loved Brad Meltzer's introspective run on the title from a few years ago). With that said, however, this issue in particular did a whole lot more right than it did wrong. There were a lot of great little moments scattered throughout and some solid teases as to the potential of this series moving forward. I'm excited to see what the future holds for the "Super Seven." Justice League #6 was a nice action packed end to the first arc for DC Comics flagship title. There were still a lot of problems when it came down to the core plot but I did enjoy this issue in a shut down your brain and enjoy the action sort of way. Geoff Johns did a good job finally bringing the team together and giving each member their own moments to shine. Now that the team is finally together I hope the pacing picks up for this series. If you are a fan of action packed comics Justice League is something you may want to check out. However, if you are looking for a comic with a strong plot I do not recommend buying Justice League. The team stands in front of the world at the capital accepting recognition from the President. While the cheers and hoopla are thrown their way however, the League wonders where they go from here. They aren't a team, they don't really like each other, and feel much more drawn towards their personal responsibilities rather than the the assumed collective responsibilities as the League. However, they can't refuse the acceptance as it's a free ticket into the hearts of the people. Thus will follow the fantastic potential of great character building stories and team building adventures! As the first story arc wraps up, the ending left me feeling a little empty. Some will love it, others will downright loathe it. Im reminded of the Grant Morrison Animal Man series ending which left a bad taste in my mouth. For me, the jurys still out on this issue, but I think Ill stick around for a few more issues just to see where it goes. After all, theyre the worlds greatest super heroes! As I said, the book so far hasn't been the tentpole book I was hoping it would be. Maybe Johns and Lee felt they needed a big loud splash to open up the DCnU. And hopefully the next stories will be more about the characters and less about their fists. I find it interesting that the moment I am going to probably remember most about this arc will be the Flash goofily naming the team 'The Super Seven', a simple phrase speaking volumes about Barry. The moment I will most likely try to forget? Batman taking off his cowl ... something I can never ever ever imagine he would do. This issue was easily the most value per dollar of any of the Justice League issues thus far, but it feels like too little too late. The only part of the main story that really grabbed my attention was the last page, and while I thought that moment was pretty cool, one good page isn't really great motivation to come back for more. I feel like it's a bit representative of the arc as a whole. There was a lot going on, but very little of it was really worthwhile. The first story is complete. Darkseid has been introduced. The Justice League has found the benefit to teamwork. Geoff Johns and Jim Lee have produced entertaining comics. The funny thing is that I STILL want to love this book. Im looking forward to Gene Has 2-issue fill-in for Jim Lee. Honestly, I dont care if Lee ever comes back. The way this book is now, I dont see myself reading any more than 12 issues. Geoff Johns, you are on notice!!! Yet striking artwork aside, I can't help but feel a bit disappointed with the execution of this book. I had no problem with the relaunch of the DC Universe, as I felt the opportunities for new directions and new insights would help reinvigorate the Justice League for a new generation.
