I adore Super Sons as a book, but "Secret Headquarters" went way beyond my expectation! The relationships of Bruce and Clark, their self-awareness, their relationships with their sons, and Damian and Jon's relationship with each other is absolutely infectious! If I had to use one word to describe the issue, it would have to be "fun-credible" because there isn't a single word to give this chapter justice. Go get this issue! Enjoy it. Laugh. And thank DC Comics for making something this fun a reality" And Mr. Tomasi, if you see this, kudos, sir! This book is an absolute gift to anyone who reads it! Read Full Review
Super Sons continues to be one of the premier books of Rebirth era with no signs of slowing down. It really needs to be an animated series! What is WB waiting for? They have a premier content here for all and it could be new Young Justice. Read Full Review
As far as interludes go, this is up there. The character relationships, their interplay, and the dialogue all worked so well and Luis provided the best non-Jimenez art this series has had yet. This upcoming crossover looks really interesting so I recommend to jump onto the series now. Read Full Review
Although I kind of wish this was Gotham Academy, where we got our first taste of Damian in a school setting, this has the potential to be a blast, and if this series keeps its current quality, we're in for a fun time. Read Full Review
I find it tougher to give a single number rating to a filler issue like this. Although there is nothing very useful here its still a fun read and is the type of comic that helps you understand these characters in a more realistic sense. These types of issues can make you feel connected with these characters, unlike a full arc can. The fact that this will be a key issue due to the first appearance of the Fortress of Attitude, plus it also has some intense secrets to what the future holds. Id say all of that together makes this an issue you dont want to miss! Read Full Review
Tomasi and Pelletier's take on the dysfunctional relationship between Krypto and Streaky gives this goofy adventure all the weight and gravitas it needs. Read Full Review
A consistently fun book that add dimension to both Damian and Jon in a way that allows them to stand out as their own heroes. Read Full Review
After a meandering story about strange silver-age villains on parallel worlds, the boys have a nice quiet issue with their fathers and plenty of hijinks, which is where this series really shines. The relationship Jon and Damian have continues to get better and is a delight to watch, as is the changing dynamic of the boys with their own fathers. The Fortress of Attitude and the new school plot are certain to bring more issues like this to the book, focusing on its strengths. I don't know where Evil Future Bat Damian fits into all of this, but I'm certainly intrigued. Read Full Review
So we have a new school, a new fortress, a new goal for the team, and a new threat! Sounds like the next year's worth of stories are nicely queued up. Can't wait to read them. I consider this almost like an appetizer. It was a story that didn't floor me. It was hardly there but it left me wanting more. And for that Tomasi and Luis deserve kudos! Read Full Review
I can see now why my brother likes Super Sons so much; it is a really fun read. Super Sons #10 being my first introduction to this series, I felt right at home. I was hardly lost at all and justenjoyed reading these characters. Nothing crazy happened in Super Sons #10; it was just an energetic, delightful read. Tomasi does a fantastic job of writing these characters and the art team really just enhances the story being told. If you have not read this series and are just looking for a fun superhero comic to jump into, you should really pick up Super Sons #10. Read Full Review
If you weren't all in for Super Sons and their adventures together, Super Sons #10 gave you so much more to invest in this series. The big thing for this issue, aside from giving these kids a break, was also proving that there is much more to offer in potential storytelling and encounters. Their dynamic is fun, so is Batman and Superman, and hopefully that was only a taste of what more can be done with these characters. Read Full Review
"Super Sons" #10 reinforces the series approach to young adventures by telling a personal story of sons and fathers. While the art can be uneven, it should not stop readers for trying this book. Read Full Review
What's next forSuper Sons? An event that promises dire things for Superboy. Rebirth has kept a lot of spinning plates in the air over the past year and a half, particularly the bright-blue ones meant for theDoomsday Clock smorgasbord coming next week. But for those paying rapt attention to all things Rebirth, the upcoming "Super Sons of Tomorrow" should offer payoff to lingering questions. What's the deal with Tim Drake, the dangerous Future-Batman, you've probably been asking? Ask Jonathan Kent in a couple of months. Ask Damian Wayne. IfSuper Sons has prospered as one of DC's most optimistic books, we're about to see what happens when things finally take a turn for the worse. Read Full Review
ConclusionIt's not bloody or crime-ridden, but cute. I'm really struggling to find a word other than this. The boys are becoming stronger friends. The series began with Damian and Jon at each other's throats (just like their fathers) but with the help of Batman and Superman, Robin and Super Boy are becoming a powerful team. Read Full Review
In a book with not a lot going on, a full out setup issue was an odd choice, but I do like what looks to be coming in the near (and farther) future. This issue had good art, but it also had pacing issues and not much forward momentum...yet. I am all for what's coming, but still a little disappointed in the here and now. Read Full Review
This issue is solid, but nothing special. With that said, it's nice to see Damian say something kind of nice for once, and the break from all the usual action is nice as well. Read Full Review
Despite the usual great characterization by Tomasi, the pacing of this issue is off. The inconsistency of the art increases the unsteady feeling of the storytelling, while a misplaced interlude breaks an otherwise natural transition from the first to the second moment of the story. Nonetheless, it builds the expectation for the upcoming crossover event, Super Sons of Tomorrow. Read Full Review
This book suffers a bit without stellar cartooning, and unfortunately, artist Jose Luis isn't quite up to the task. Read Full Review
The Fortress of Attitude! I love this book and have since its inception. Fun and enjoyable stories and I think these characters have a great dynamic that I can't wait to see evolve. There isn't too much that happens in the issue but I love Super Sons so much I wouldn't dare skip it. Can't wait for the next one.
I liked it! The new fortress and Damian life change set up a new dynamic. It's unfair to compare anyone to Jimenez BUT - Ching did a good job with the Intermezzo and super suit scenes, but the first part was...something was off with the characters out of costume. Tomasi continues to channel Jon and Damian's voices well, so this was another delight.
this series has been enjoyable, though not too memorable.
still is pretty fun.
