From vampire mythology to Ghost Rider's demonic history, Aaron knows exactly what to do with these darker properties. Every moment works. Read Full Review
The Vampire Civil War has begun and it's outstanding! There's plenty of action with the team paired off in different locales fighting all sorts of bloodsuckers. One hero undergoes a transformation that's going to cause problems as the heroes continue to fight the fangers. The visuals are killer, with the characters, their actions, and the settings superb. This is a team book to find before the sun goes down! Recommended. Read Full Review
Jason Aaron does a great job balancing the scope of this new story and the presence of his new villains. The Shadow Colonel is already a great villain. And David Marquez and Justin Ponsor deliver nothing but the best with their glorious pages. Read Full Review
The Avengers #14 had everything I wanted from this storyline. We are dropped right into the vampire civil war and the hunt for Dracula. Aaron toes that nice line of serious yet funny at the same time perfectly. The art from Marquez, Ponsor & Arciniega is just spectacular. I didn't want this issue to be done. As soon as I got to the final page I wanted more immediately, and that is probably some of the best praise I can give to a comic. Read Full Review
After reading this issue I'm thoroughly convinced that Aaron and Marquez are capable of anything, including ice-skating uphill. Read Full Review
The art by David Marquez looks amazing. It is beautifully detailed and all of the action is thrilling. Read Full Review
Vampires are at war and the Avengers are trying to prevent collateral damage. Blade just wants to kill them all. Robbie Reyes may have lost control of his demonic alter ego and that spells trouble for Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Dracula is on the run, and the Shadow Colonel and his Legion of the Unliving are hot on his trail. Will the Winter Guard intervene? Will the Avengers survive this encounter? Will Robbie Reyes be the same again? Read Full Review
Aaron manages to capture the tone of the MCU characters without shorting the much more complicated history of the comic Marvel Universe, giving us a lot of character and depth in a whiz-bang adventure yarn (with a pretty shocking final page.) Read Full Review
A solid issue, if this is the direction the series is going I'm back on board for now. Read Full Review
The story includes terrific art and lots of action, so it's entertaining - for a war. Read Full Review
It seems that what a Marvel Civil War has been missing all along is the word vampire before it. While there are a couple of iffy character moments and not a lot very everyone to do, I am ready to rollespecially after the cliffhanger. I just hope we get at least one who ordered the stake line before its over. Read Full Review
A great kickoff to some Avengers vs. vampire action. Aaron and Marquez have a good handle of the characters and I can't wait to see how a vampire war changes the team and the world. Make no mistake, this is good horror comics meets action comics. This is a fang-tastic first issue in a story that does not suck. Read Full Review
David Marquez is back on the book showcasing his artistic talents in a few exciting action shots and poses. Black Panther and Iron Man's double solar attack offered a dazzling scene that offset the darker aesthetic of most of the book. A fiery scene featuring Ghost Rider also served as a highlight, albeit a terrifying one. The newest Avengers book continues to be solid and dynamic take on Marvel's flagship team. Read Full Review
The issue is a good one with a lot of action and some interesting concepts. Though not perfect, it's a solid start to a story which feels like it could have been an event all on its own. With some minor tweaks this could have been a hell of a story reflecting on today's socio-political climate. We'll see where it goes but Aaron and the team have laid interesting groundwork. It's fun, it's tense and packed with cool moments. The ending to the comic surely packs big surprises ahead.
Fun start to a Vampire v Avengers arc, its just sad that this will be pretty small since War of the Realms is starting on issue 17 i think. The art was good, the new villain is really badass, Blade is a really cool addition, Ghost Rider is getting more of the spotlight and im not complaining, excited for whats to come.
Like where this is headed
This is lots of fun!
This is filled to the brim with cool moments. This looks like it'll be great.
Vampires vs Avengers, with lots of great exciting moments and great writing, what's not to love?
I think this plot is cool and I’m enjoying the glimpse into everybody, especially Robbie! Also, I love you evil skull face vampire dog.
Fun script although a bit too many quips for my taste but the book overall has the right tone for the right moments by Aaron. I love Marquez and Ponsor together!!
I'm not a fan of the vampire story so far but I like Marquez's art more than McGuinness'. I've never liked vampire stories and Avengers 14 doesn't spend enough time with the newest Avenger: Blade! Fortunately, Avengers 14 keeps you interested and invested for the next issue.
