Guardians of the Galaxy #4 is full of blood-pumping action " quite frankly, it may be the best book in this budding run yet. Read Full Review
Geoff Shaw dominates with the art in this issue. Every panel and character looks amazing and the final battle between these two groups looks beautiful in both scope and scale. Read Full Review
Through four issues, Guardians of the Galaxy has been a madcap ride that hopefully wont soon be over. This issue is a downright slugfest, one that also manages to seed a new mystery and continue developing characters. Go forth and read this damn book. Read Full Review
Guardians has been a great new pick for me. With zero knowledge of the cosmic universe I am still getting a lot out of this book. While at times I feel in the dark, none of those moments actually harm my understanding of what is going on. With only four issues in, this series is great for new and old readers alike Read Full Review
This issue is mainly about adjusting the Guardians roster and clarifying the battle lines for the conflict to come. Guardians #4 delivers a satisfying dose of battle itself, complete with consequences, but this is not a climactic turning point. Strong action art and fast, polished characterization provide a fulfilling sense of motion even if the plot is taking its sweet time to develop. Read Full Review
While I want so much more from this book, Donny Cates and Geoff Shaw have some fun this issue before giving readers an awesome looking battle royale. This book still doesnt feel like a standalone Guardians book, but I will wait until after this first arc to get too mad about that. Read Full Review
The new issue features strong character work now that the story is coalescing, but the art is a tad problematic during a big, hectic fight scene. Read Full Review
I'm gonna keep buying this series in the hopes it tightens it's focus, but as of now it's a little tough to follow at times. Read Full Review
Donny Cates' GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY hasn't reached its full potential yet but it's a solid read regardless. Read Full Review
Wow
Cannot wait for the next issue. This is in my top pull with hulk and uncanny x-men for marvel
Prelude:
We're past the halfway point of the first arc of Guardians. Let's see how Cates and Shaw go with it.
The Good:
I really like Gamora in this issue and to a similar degree Nebula, due to their capabilities in the fights they choose.
Rocket and what he did concerning the Guardians is a plot thread that shows promise so far.
Geoff Shaw's art is great here.
The Bad:
Cliffhanger is pretty basic and I doubt anyone believes it.
Conclusion:
Still a good issue throughout but I doubt that the cliffhanger was impactful in any way possible.
Enjoyed this issue far more than the previous two.
Loving this book. There's a lot going on, the roster is massive, and it's all done so well. Wishing this was a bi-weekly book tbh, as there's so much going on.
A fun time that was over too fast!
I really like the team dynamics here.
Really fun issue to read but that ending was mehhh.
It's good but the bar is high and we have yet to reach it.
the author is bad at writing work about teams
