I don't think Emma is queer coded. Magik, Kitty, Rachel and some others have a long story of queerbait
RED RECKONING! The Black King removed the Red Queen from the board...what move will the White Queen make?
Rated T+
This is one of the best issues of Marauders so far, and an emotional one that is one of the best Kate Pryde stories in recent memory. Read Full Review
It's a joy to see Kate reconnect to her friends, her faith, and her passions, and Duggan ends the issue with a provocative visual of a renewed, focused Kate. Read Full Review

Marauders continues to set a high bar for "Dawn of X," and I don't see that changing anytime soon. Read Full Review
Long live the Red Queen! And light a candle for Sebastian Shaw who has no idea what he is in store for. Well actually, neither do we, but it is exciting that this creative team has chosen to keep us all in the dark till her plans kick off. Read Full Review
Some big character development and some cute art make this Kate Pryde-focused issue really standout. Read Full Review
MARAUDERS #12 really isnt necessary to the overall story and is mainly a catch-up issue centered around a tattoo. Lately, MARAUDERS has been missing more than Kitty and it needs to find its place post hast! Lets see Captain Kate back in action while she finds a way to stick it to that ill-tempered Sea Bass Sebastian Shaw! Lets get to the good stuff weve all been waiting for already! Guys, keep this on your pull list but if you have to save a few bucks, you can totally skip MARAUDERS #12 this week. Read Full Review

Overall this is a pretty disappointing issue in a series that has been so good. It screams filler issue that drags the story out for no reason. Read Full Review
Ah yeah terrific chapter after the unexpected sadness of a turn in the story. Love this comic. Love the new X-Books
Art 4.5/5
Story 4.5/5
" I have no flesh, but i have a daugther. I have know her by many names over the years. I met her as Kitty then as Sprite, later Shadowcat."

This was easily the worst issue of the series thus far for me, but it wasn't bad by any means. I think Duggan continues to show that he has a great voice for Kate and I liked a good amount of the heartfelt moments throughout this issue. Plus, Lolli provided some pretty nice art. My gripes with this come from the fact that I thought this was a relatively quick read compared to the previous eleven issues and I also just wasn't into the overall story here as much as said previous issues. That said, though, it's realy nice to have Kate back and I'm looking forward to seeing more of her as this series continues.
It's not exactly a filler issue, but it's one that's all about emotional reconnection. And with all due respect, the creators don't bring enough storytelling heat to do the job decisively. Readers have to lean out and meet the creators more than halfway; this comic relies too much on pre-existing love of Kate Pryde.
I also wonder about the process that leads to creators/editors deciding to take the climactic moment of the final scene and spoil it on the cover.
I see a lot of people are happy about Kitty's bisexuality finally being canonized (Clairemont always intended it, but wasn't able to go all the way with it due to Marvel's editorial at the time, so there was simply a ton of subtext.), and that's all well and good. Also, Duggan brought back Kitty's Star of David necklace, which I hope puts to rest that whole ridiculous uproar regarding Marvel somehow erasing Kitty's Judaism in the last issue. I'm excited to see what Emma and Kitty do to Shaw. That aspect of the book, the politicking, is honestly my favorite part. But I just have to say... Those tattoos are fucking dumb.
Best Kitty in years, Duggan gets the character so well. But overall a slow issue.
Good writing and pretty good artwork, but was a bit of a letdown after building up towards this moment for so long. We'll see where it goes from here.
Story so so
Artwork beautiful
Imagine giving someone their first tattoo and that tattoo is a knuckle tat! Unreal. Also that kiss. Yikes.
Ha? Just a tattoo? That’s all it’s about.
After the build-up from the funeral issue this is a massive disappointment. It didn't push the story along enough and what we're given in terms of reunions isn't enough to warrant a full issue of Kitty meandering around Krakoa vaguely plotting revenge with Emma. Really hoping Duggan can right this ship after X Of Swords.
It's a team book or justa Kitty/Emma book?
Wolverine said more words than 3 chaarcter of the cast of the book?
Lolli art is also not the best.
This was pretty bad. The artist seems to really struggle with drawing legs.
What the **** did they do to Kitty Pryde?
So why exactly does she need tats on her fingers for this? Also, now every female is a lesbian/bi/queer coded? I’m ok with diversity, but it’s feeling forced t this point. Kitty, Illyana, Rachel, Emma...
